Okay Pinball, I guess it would be more fair to say that you are trying to make up the massive difference between Laine and Nylander with insignificant Leaf garbage. Does that make you feel better?

Yes Laine is better but by about only 10 points a year better plus Laine will command a much bigger contract after this year.
WNylander is locked up with his contract.

If Laine was half the player you just described, then his own coaches wouldn’t refuse to put him against other teams top lines. They don’t trust him on the ice like they do with Scheifele and wheeler because he doesn’t do those things

You can say you don’t like the trade without lying about the players involved. That is possible.

Lol acting like laine plays any harder than nylander is just a joke. Laine can outscore nylander by a bit, and was hyped up much more in his draft year, that's the only difference between the 2. Nylander will have a much better contract. Makes up the difference in my eyes.

These jets posters are out of control. Laine is a sulky little sucky baby who stops trying when he doesn't get his bounces. I wouldn't trade nylander straight up for that cancer.

Sampson, Hurdemz watch some Jets games before you make more uninformed comments about Laine's game. You never see Jets fans posting trades trying to trade Laine but there sure are a lot of Leaf fans trying to pedal their Leafs mistakes to steal Laine and other players from every team. Hypocrites.

First of all Laine>>Nylander he is a top 5 goal scorer in the game.

Now clearly these jets posters don’t watch any jets games because Laine is perhaps the biggest floater in the game. The puck is a hot potato for him in the offensive zone he can't make room for himself usually. He is a 1 dimensional goal scorer who is not trusted by the jets scouting staff. He is a great complimentary piece. But not a player that drives the play.

What “Leaf Mistake” is anyone trying to pedal? And of I were GM in TOR I wouldn’t do Nylander for Laine straight up because Laine is going to want $9M+ and Nylander is signed for 4years at $6.9M.

Career points per 82 game season is 66 for Laine. 60 for Nylander. Is there a $2M+ difference In value to a team? Maybe, but not for the Maple Leafs

Also in their respective, similar, point totals Laine is more goal heavy obviously. 37 goals per 82 for Laine vs only 23 for Nylander. However Leafs already have Matthews who has averaged almost 46G per 82 over the same span while playing with Nylander a lot

Nylander fits their style, their lineup and their budget way better than Laine ever would.

I personally don't want laine on the leafs. And I hope the jets trade him, and get a decent return, I think they'd be a better team without him and his defensive deficiencies.

I love the jets, they're my second favourite team other than the leafs. This is a trade forum for fun. You clowns never post trades, just criticize other people's offers (fun based) then insult them.

Pinball, thanks for the trade idea, but if I were dubs, I'd stay as far away from laine as possible.

Can’t wait to see Laine go. His ego is already making him look like a spoiled brat. Not a team player at all and not the 2 way player the jet boys think he is. Whoever he is traded for will be the next “untouchables” on the best team in the league.

Laine is a young Kessle. Set up, wait for a pass and if the puck leaves the offensive zone, jump on the bench. Leafs don't need him, they have already made that mistake.

Yes Thunder. I agree. He’s really good at what he does. But he doesn’t do near enough to build a team around. Leafs did make that mistake thinking they could win with Kessel as their best player and then Pitt put him where he should be, as your 3-4th best and he was huge for them on a Championship team.

You can’t give up a young Dman, a really good forward, 1st round picks and prospects for a guy to be your 4th best player. Recipe for disaster.
