If they were to trade Malkin. It would be for future pieces. The 1st is a good start but Danault and Tatar aren’t the pieces to add

I’d take that second offer from both sides if Brooks was replaced with Mete.

Only if the 1st was a top 10 pick

BIG no from Mtl. Full respect to Malkin, but he's 33, and his cap hit is 8.7M until he's 38.

Habs look good as-is right now, and that return is way too much.

Easy yes from Montreal IMO. He’s most likely still going to be a really good player in 5 years. There getting a top player in NHL history for a 1st and a two good not great players. Not sure what situation PIT has to be in to make this trade.

It depends ChickenFoot how ya look at it. I agree with you, however, if Habs are trying to make a true push for a cup with Price and Weber still effective, but also aging fast, maybe ya do this. However, i don't think its enough to win the cup. And this could/ would potentially hurt Habs for awhile paying Grey Beards almost 30 million a year, and no money to sign young guys.

Its a tough one. but ill decide to agree with ya and say no.

Why does mtl need malkin? Why give up all that for an old player on the decline

@p1015983 “player on the decline” back to back 70pt season ok...

In reference to Sosahabs24 post, Habs need Malkin because he would become their desperately needed NO. 1 Center who is capable of averaging between 80-90 pts per season over the next 4 seasons. Malkin would provide the Habs with size, scoring threat and offensive prowess down the middle. He has won 3 cups already. He is still a top 10 NHL player, a 3-time champion, and a leader on the ice. That's why.
