Sharks Trade
EKane (50% of Contract Retained)

Toronto Trades
Kerfoot

Ok Sharks I am hearing want to rid themselves of EKane, to do so I believe they would have to retain half of the rest of his contract.

Leafs add a Top 6 for sure but with all his issues is it worth the gamble ? Maybe it is or maybe it would be a huge mistake idk.

Thoughts ?

Thoughts? That you need help.

Never happen.

Sharks would have to be out of their minds to trade Kane for Kerfoot even without the retention. If Toronto wants Kane they'll have to start with something a lot better than Kerfoot and add from there.

Nylander for Kane straight up might interest San Jose.

Why on Earth would SJ do this?

I second that thought.

SJS is not retaining 50% of a 7mil @ 5 year contract, there’s just no way in heck.

I think everyone needs to google Evander Kane to understand why SJ might be willing to take whatever for him, it's not what he does on the ice, it's off the ice.

Pinball I think we’re all aware of his financial troubles, but what kind of message does an organization send its players if they trade them for dirt when they are struggling; it’s like cutting your brother out of your life when he’s struggling with an addiction. The Sharks should restructure Kanes deal this offseason to help him with his financials and get him through this difficult time.

Is this what its come to? The only way the Leafs can even sniff a Stanley Cup is if all 30 other teams just gift them more talented players and get absolutely fleeced in the returns?

Kane, yes, an excellent player when he's not lugging all that baggage around, he would just be a distraction in the locker room.
