Nick Foligno for a 1st and a couple 4ths to Toronto, love the move. Was third behind Palmieri and Hall on my list but I think he's the type of guy we need+ its 75% salary retention, CBJ ate 50%, then SJS ate 50% of the already 50%, so Foligno comes in at 1.3M.

Anybody who is happy about paying a first round pick for Nic Foligno at this rate of his career needs to learn about player values. Eric Staal has more value and he only got a third round pick at 50% retain. Yes Staal is 3 years olde veut he is also a center that is only 2 season removed from a 42 goals campaign. This trade will be seen as the next Martin Erat trade if that first round pick pans out.

Okay JAnderson, this is the Martin Erat trade all over again even tho the first is prob 25-30 in a weak draft. Alright.

@sosa would love to hear your thoughts on staal or foligno and the trade as well :) (i don't mean this sarcastically either lol, your takes as a habs fan are pretty fair even considering u hate the leafs haha)

God JAndersson has no idea what heâ€™s talking about Eric Staal is pretty washed up still a decent pickup but heâ€™s a shell of his former self. There is not a single non elite player with more character in the NHL the Nick Foligno he does literally everything and is one of the best defensive players in the NHL. He still puts up points while doing it. Foligno was personally my number 1 target. Comparing a 25-32 pick to Filip Forsburg who was an elite prospect at the time is a joke. Just stop.

TSS. well after seeing that Hall was picked up for next to nothing, maybe the 1sf for Foligno was to much. as for Staal and Foligno, well from what I've seen of Staal so far hasn't impressed me much., sure he scored the OT goal., other than that not so much
Foligno brings a different element to his game than Staal, and at this point of Staals career I will say that Foligno is the more valuable peice. This was a decent pick up for the Leafs, he's the type of player ya win with.
So at the end of the year, if Leafs are holding the cup, then the 1st was well worth it. jus like anyone who doesn't win, people will be questioning why did they give up a 1st lol.
I sure hope people are questioning it at the end of the year and not celebrating hahaðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.

Thereâ€™s a few people on this site that just hate a team and trash everything they do. JAnderson is one of them. If the leafs didnâ€™t do anything, he wouldâ€™ve trashed that too.
