Anaheim: John Gibson and Rickard Rakell ( 50% retained UFA in 2022 )

Carolina: Alex Nedeljkovic, Seth Jarvis and
1st 2021

Anaheim: the ducks bring in a young solid replacement for Gibson that fits their timeline well, a very good prospect picked 13th in 2020 and a 1st

Carolina: the canes add a top 5 goalie in the game signed to a nice deal who literally carry's a putrid ducks roster and a nice 2nd line winger.

These are definitely two teams I could see making a deal because the difference between Carolina and a cup is a Goalie who can steal games and depth scoring.

Although there will be a hole on defense if Hamilton walks unless a young defenseman is ready to emerge or they can fill it through UFA.

The only question I have from Carolina is sending Ned in the deal. A Gibson- Ned tandem would be ideal so they can move on from Mrazek and Reimer.

Perhaps the Ducks would be interested in one of Canes Defenseman instead. They could aim for a Goalie in this year or next year draft to align with the draft class.

That’s just a few of my thoughts, value wise it’s pretty close overall.

No from Anaheim, Gibson is worth a lot more.

How much more is he worth? Has there been a goalie in NHL history traded for more?

Nylander, on this one I don’t think you are that far off, but I think you value Nedel closer to Gibson then he is. If he has another solid season next year, then this trade becomes more plausible come deadline time.
