This is the type of proposal that I believe both Teams would look at.

Canucks take a step back for this season, but 3 steps forward for there future adding 2 Top Prospects and a 1st Rounder over a 4th Rounder.

Leafs need to shed some Salary plus add a LW for the top 6, JTMiller is the perfect fit, yes some future is sacrificed but as close as they are it's a no brainer to go for it, after this proposal what's left for the offseason is trading Muzzin for more Cap Space and resigning Sandin.

You know the Canucks are loaded with small/ slight players and try to dump 3 more small/ slight players, for a top 10 scorer?

The only interesting part of that proposal is the 1st in 2024, it should end up being a top 16 pick.

Lots of names, but only the 1st is consequential, and a 1st is a given with a hot commodity like Miller.

The leafs shouldn’t trade any more first regardless. Scooby torpedoed the rebuild when he signed Tavares needlessly, and gave Marner 11M too.

Next summer the leafs’ new GM will trade Matthews and Nylander to get picks or prospects before they leave as UFA’s at the end of next season. The new GM will be hired based upon experience and achievement…someone respected, like LOU LAMORIELLO? ?.

Niemela is actually so good id probably rather trade the next 3 years of 1sts then him. He’s going to take over Riellys spot as 1D in a few years.

Wow, your optimism for Niemela is certainly noteworthy. At 5-11 / 160 at age 20 he will be an undersized NHL D and better have some amazing skill to back it up.

Is he the latest over-hyped leaf prospect or a small guy who will have a hard time at the NHL level, or both? I’ll be curious to see if he gets any preseason games to see how he performs against bigger men in North American rinks to see if I can see what you do?.
