Yeah Casual, you are way off on the Dubois' trade. You're basically not offering anything of value. He won't be traded until the summer if he is moved and this just isn't close.

Hoffman, no matter how much you retain is a cap dump.

Armia another pure cap dump.

Hutson as a LHD is the last thing Winnipeg needs, so has no value to the Jets.

A 2nd is a 2nd.

Do you really think that would be a competitive offer for a year of a young 1C.

Ben Chiarot got more.

I don't think value-wise, WPG accepts the trade. I think they would need a solid piece that could immediately fit on their roster. The only NHL player included in this deal is Hoffman who barely holds any value and currently plays like a fringe scoring 3rd liner, and that's not enough. They'll probably get better trades from other teams.

MTL has high hopes for Hutson so I think they might want to hang unto him until they see more of his development. His advanced stats are insanely good in the NCAA and show that his potential could be huge, but it's still a question-mark wether or not his skill translates to the NHL level.

WPG declines, and MTL is better off keeping their picks and prospects to avoid taking shortcuts in a rebuild, which never works out.

If Dubois wants to join MTL it will be as a UFA. WPG deserves fair market value, but it makes zero sense for a rebuilding team like MTL to offer multiple picks & prospects when you're trying to accumulate them for a rebuild.

For a young C, especially a good one like Dubois, at least one 1st has to go back to WPG. Trading a '23 1st makes no sense unless you're a Cup contender looking to add what you hope is the final piece of the puzzle.

too much for Lafreniere. would rather keep Monahan to be honest.

WPG is one of the top teams in the league, they won't be trading Dubois, anytime soon.

I'd be interested in the Lafreniere one. I'd like to keep Monohan, but the chance to get Lafreniere is very hard to pass up.
I'm not convinced that what we see from him, is all he's gonna be.

This would be a hard decision to make, but I dont believe that Lafreniere isn't Yakupov 2.0. hes not even 22,. A fresh start is what he needs.

@sosa

You’re right Laffy will never be Yakapov. Yakapovs failure was his hockey sense and Work ethic . Lafranier has hockey sense and Work ethic. Right now at this point he is a solid responsible 3rd line player with a change of scenery the sky is the limit. His biggest drawback is his skating.

If PLD doesn't sign a long term deal by the draft I can see the Jets trading him at that time. There would be a long list of teams that would want him and who PLD would sign long term with.

I never heard anything bad about Yakupovs work ethic from what I can remember. Yeah his hockey sense was looow but just a reminder he was on a 50 point pace as a rookie during the lockout year. Lol I think he could’ve been a 100 point guy on McDavids wing.

Well he’s still in his 20s and isn’t doing anything in KHL. He doesn’t have the hockey sense to play with McDavid. Very talented player but zero tool box. Lafranier would be good with McDavid.

Laf-McDavid-Boeser would be an unreal line that’d feed off each others skills.

(Using these 2 players because they’re struggling.

Any potential Dubois trade to Mtl better start with getting Suzuki in return. Jets have a good core of young D ready to play. The team is thriving under Bowness and the best thing they did was take the "C" away from Wheeler. Jets need to build around Dubois/ Connor / Helly/ Morrissey.

Go Jets Go.

Jets would never do this trade.

He was near a point a game before he got hurt playing with McDavid his last season with Edmonton. I don’t know how to look that up but that’s how I remember the start of the 15-16 season. I don’t think you need hockey IQ to play with McDavid, he was could score and that’s what McDavid needs. 30 goal pace his rookie season is pretty crazy.

14.) 12 Jan 2023
12 Jan 2023 02:48:09
That’s so wrong you need hockey iq to get open in the offensive zone to get those shots off.

15.) 12 Jan 2023
12 Jan 2023 12:20:12
You need limited iq to get open. Lol Yakupov had low iq and he was able to figure it out with McDavid.
