I'm sorry, but looking at the Flames line up with the contracts they have handed out. I almost feel sorry for them.

Kadri - age 32 @ 7 million for 7 more years
Huberdeau - age 29 @ 10.5 million for 9 years
Weegar - age 29 @ 6.25 million for 9 years
Markstrom - age 33 @ 6 million for 4 years

Vancouver dodged a bullet resigning markstrom.

Panthers won the Tkachuk trade (although he forced them to trade him = lower value)

Going to be some tough years ahead.

Get real lol. Ottawa gave up a 7th overall in a deep draft, plus a high 2nd and a high 3rd to get DeBrincat in the 1st place. If you think they will accept less than that for him now, after he's proven he can operate without a superstar like Kane or McDavid feeding him everything then you are nuts.

Minimum of a 5th overall pick or a star of a similar level and age straight up otherwise forget it. Ottawa is ready to compete now, so accepting a bunch of lower picks and high risk prospects is a definite HELL NO! Better to just sign him.

It makes Ottawa worse in the short term which is the opposite of what they need to do.
I honestly think Calgary just needs to run it back with their current crew and a new coach and hope it makes a difference.

It was NEVER once said that vbbvbb you need more reliable sources dude. 2023 and 2022 were the 2 deepest draft classes since 2003. That's a fact. They only talked about it all over since like 2018 till now. It was all over the internet for years.

2015 was literally deeper then 2003……2022 is not looking special at all. Shane Wright and Brad Lamburt were hyped for years but look at them now. That’s why that class was so hyped.
