Columbus trades:
Panarin

Leafs Trade:
The Stanley Cup (if they don't win it then Columbus can have Panarin back and the Pacific Ocean so there is a body of water for Panarin, yay)

Okay lol.

2.) 12 Sep 2018 02:56:54
This is how I feel about some of the Panarin trades I read.

3.) 12 Sep 2018 03:48:18
I thought these comments had to be vetted or something? How this get through?

4.) 12 Sep 2018 04:57:03
Well panarin would be instantly best wing on most teams, they dony come cheap top winger on leafs with all their talant at forward.

Ok so I'm just wondering, do you think Panarin would want to go to Toronto? Is Lake Ontario a good enough body of water for his Wife or what?
Other then that though, I can see him going to 3 places (if he gets traded that is)
1 NYI
Although they lost Tavares, I don't see the Islanders staying in a very long rebuild, especially if he goes there, Matt Barzal is a hell of a player and seems like he has Scheifle or possibly even Bergeron potential to me. Oh and it's close to water

2 VGK
I mean, who doesn't want to play in Vegas, they got a hell of a lot of cap space, and just traded for Pacioretty, yes the whole Schmidt issue, but I can see him going there short term for sure, although only short term because it's still kind of a distance from the ocean

3 TBL
Well this would win Tampa the cup, they would have to send someone like JT Miller or Palat back to clear up some cap, especially if they would still want Karlsson, but when your trading for an elite player it's very possible. Oh, and it's near the Ocean

So all you need to attract star players is cap space and pacioretty hmmmm didn't seem to work for montreal lol.

2.) 12 Sep 2018 05:20:25
NYR, FLR, NYI, TBL, DAL, LAK are my guesses.
He would be a great one year rental in TOR but it would cost too much of the pipeline for the gamble to go
For it this season.

3.) 12 Sep 2018 15:02:33
I know NYR are an option, so is Dallas, but I really can’t see Panarin there, good players want to win, and yes ok if he wants to got there then maybe, but I see NYR finishing in the bottom 10 of not 5 in the league, and staying there for a while. I also can’t see who they would trade other then Namestnikov and a couple of prospects, not a great deal for Columbus a playoff team
With the whole Dallas Seguin situation and how far it is from an Ocean I don’t see Panarin going there, especially if their not a playoff team
Florida will likely work on their defence first before offence, like the leafs they need another top 4 RD, they traded for Hoffman and their offence actually looks good so if they get another defenceman, they could definitely sneak into a playoff spot, they did get close last year, but before Panarin they need to trade for a defenceman
LA could be another team, they have very solid defence, goaltending and top 6 offence (especially with Kucherov) but not a lot of depth up front, they could defunetly bump guys down the lineup with an addition of Panarin, but I think they will likely trade for some depth and prospects for the future, they are getting up there in age, it will be around the time Kucherov’s contract expires where they will start to fall off the earth, again it would be a short term spot for Panarin.

4.) 12 Sep 2018 17:47:36
The last part jim I assume you were talking about tampa not LA. But it got me thinking what about LA?

5.) 12 Sep 2018 19:49:17
My post isn’t even showing up on mine, but I’m assuming it did if gabby is responding. I did actually mean LA actually. Just city comparable, if he wants a major city with high end things and modelling opportunity, my mind goes to LA and NY. I know Florida (more Miami than Tampa) has it too, but the others are the top 2 in my opinion.

6.) 12 Sep 2018 20:11:03
Ok I just got threw off with kucherov being with La . But yeah I'd agree the kings might be a sneaky participant in the panarin sweepstakes.

7.) 12 Sep 2018 22:16:30
Oh, I didn’t mean kucherov If I said it lol I can’t see my post to see where I messed up, but was definitely speaking of LA.

8.) 12 Sep 2018 22:55:53
Why would the Islanders want to give up sufficient assets for a star player with 1 year left on his contract when their team is in a rettoling faze.

9.) 13 Sep 2018 03:39:29
I believe habby thought Unknown team was Unbiased Jim. I hope so anyways, otherwise I’m not following any of this.

10.) 13 Sep 2018 05:03:30
Yes leafs 17 you appear to be right but I could have sworn it said unbiased jim earlier. Oh we'll this site is getting more like a bad twlight zone episode every day lol.

11.) 13 Sep 2018 05:17:35
I did send one in and thought it was up there too before. Lol that’s why I was responding. Basically that rangers would be my first guess at where he ends up, but could see LA as a possibility.

12.) 13 Sep 2018 14:31:32
I could see rangers willing to pay him big big money long term. They’ve never been shy with money, had a ton of European superstars (Lundqvist, Bure, Jagr, Gaborik) over the years and could be good in a cpl years with Chytil, Andersson etc in the pipeline, young players like Skjei, Namestnikov, Vesey, Buchnevich, spooner and zabiajad already good NHLers. And Panarin is only like 25 or 26. Don’t need to win with him in the next 2 years before it all falls apart for him lol if they have him next year and 8 more he’s still only 34-35 after. Biggest thing is they need a successor for Henrik in net.

And as for him: he wants a world class city, a big market, modelling opportunity for his wife and nightlife. Don’t see a better fit for all that (LA close but not likely salary wise) . And if water is as big of a factor as you say, Manhattan is an island lol compared to Vegas being a desert.

13.) 14 Sep 2018 16:36:15
No it shows up lol.

Ok can I do something
For the leafs to get Panarin:
Columbus gets
Gardiner
Kapanen
Leafs 2019 1st
Rasanen

You can argue a guy like Gardiner won’t help and Columbus already has Murray, but honestly with the injuries Murray has sustained and all the games he has missed, you would kind of think The Jackets would have a backup plan, at least for a year to help Murray get back on track.
As two-way Defensman who had a 52 point season, a plus 9 average and who is a pending FA, Gardiner fits that description.
It may not be ideal, but if the Jackets can’t have solid offence going into the playoffs, they may as well have solid defence and Goaltending so they can win with only 2 or 3 goals per game.

If Panarin is traded to Toronto, it’s going to involve something coming back to them that they can use in the playoffs, Rasanen could just be a throw in
It would involve getting a guy like Gardiner if Murray doesn’t do well so they can solidify the top 4 or/ and a young guy who will improve like Kapanen
Yes you would have to add some stuff to that, like a first, but it’s a start and something the jackets could use to at least get past the first round.
