Getting closer.

LOL. Not even walking up to the gate of the ballpark.

Try,
Blues Trade Parynko

Leafs trade Morgan Reilly

WHy would St Louis trade Paraynko with 3 years term for Muzzin who's a UFA and Hyman who's not even playing?

Reilly and Parynko have the same term, same dollars on their contracts basically.

So, I see a hearty cold Colt type blunt NO WAY on this silly proposal!

only differance between reilly and parayko is reilly is consistant regarless who coaches him or plays with him.

almost 3 times the points . advanced stats tell us he is even a better defender.

would need to add thomas and others to make this trade even be considered.

yes the original deal is a bit off but not as far as reilly for parayko is.

@West
A 20 goal, 70 point scoring defenceman for a 20-30 point defenceman isn't very fair. Parayko is very overvalued on this website. Many of the RHD are. The only time defence are not overhyped is when they are on Toronto.

I would be willing to add a 2nd Round Pick in my Proposal so it would be.

Blues Trade
Parayko
5th Round Pick 2020

Leafs Trade
Muzzin
Hyman (IR)
Bracco (AHL)
2nd Round Pick 2020

Thoughts?

Adding more picks / minor leaguers still doesn't even get you an inch closer to the ballpark gate.

Why is Parayenko coveted?
Paraynko is a big bodied Dman who is worth every penny of his Salary. He is a lot more effective as a defender than Reilly simply because of his size, strength, and reach to nullify offensive chances and clear the front of the net. No stats kept for those assets. He scores, he hits, he has a good shot, is big enough to move even the big boys out of in front of the tender. A Dman of his calibre on the UFA market would be getting probably 8M today ( Eckblad dollars), not 5. No way St Louis gives him up unless it's a completely parallel D for D trade. Reilly straight up is the only hope of the Leafs seeing him in the Blue and white until he becomes a UFA in 3 years.

Well. I suppose a silly blockbuster could still go down like Marner or Matthews or Tavares with 50% retained for Paraynko trade may fly, but that's so ridiculous it's hardly even worth mentioning.3,4,5 players n picks for 1's just don't happen in todays NHL very often and especially for a Dman in his prime like thi, s that's worth every penny of his salary and has contract term left.

Overhype 101.

Just so you know their are stats for every aspect of the game and i mean every. Just because people don't understand them doesn't mean they are not there. So many programs have been designed to figure these things out.

He is good 65% of the time. but unfortunetly his 35% bad he is god aweful. Yes, he is big. However, when a fast guy is allowed around him he is so crappy. stand still and he will move you but his foot work can't keep up if you move a bit. His reach is long but refs are crackng down even more this season. The move he got away with last year won't fly this year. The league knows what he does and every team and ref will watch for it. His stick work at peoples ankles is discusting. Just hacking when someone gets around him. he will get called this year. one handed slashes aren't going to fly this year. just sayin.

I actually don’t think Saint Louis accepts Paryanko for Rielly I don’t think leafs do either while Rielly is better offensively Paryanko is better defensively.

05 Oct 2019 01:42:11
If it’s so ridiculous it’s not worth mentioning it, why did you mention if? Parayko is world’s beneath Morgan RIelly and you know it.

05 Oct 2019 02:02:44
Ristolainen does all those things too. But he isn’t valued nearly as highly on this site as Parayko. Why is that I wonder? In fact, Risto has better numbers than Parayko in several categories. If you are going to say these things about Parayko, you need to face up to the fact that Risto is equally capable, and been more so, than Parayko for all those traits.

Hockey fan. who would you rather have on your Blueline, parayko or ristolainen?

05 Oct 2019 18:35:25
Good question. parayko or ristolainen

Lets see parayko has a cup but if risto was dealt along with oreilly for parayko and the package that went to buffalo guess what?

Risto would have a cup and parayko wouldnt

See putting risto on a team like st. louis neither improves nor hurts a team like st. louis
Also, putting parayko on buffalo neither improves or worsens buffalo

Parayko is better defensively while risto is better offensively. that will never change.

Risto is smaller by 2 inches and 15 pounds and is considered a good skater for a bigger guy but not elite.
Parayko is bigger and for some reason I've read (on this site) he is an elite skater. I disagree. He is an average skater but alright for a big guy. He does have a much heavier shot than risto. Same MPH (100.3 ) though. harder and heavier are 2 differant things.

Now for dmen i love the hits+blocks+takeaways-giveaway stats. risto is like a +50 over parayko on average every year.

Thing is you put parayko on a team like buffalo and his defensive game will suffer while putting risto on st. louis and now he looks like a good defender. Differance is parayko will have tough time getting 45 points in buffalo while risto may hit 55 on st. louis.

So to answer the question by Facelift39 as long as the comparable is risto on st. louis team and system vs parayko on buffalo team and system i'd actually want risto. variables change based on teams either players could go to. For this comparable i think risto might be as good as parayko in st. louis while parayko would ge worse in buffalo.

Ristolainen wins.

Nobody would pick risto over parayko.
