Skill and grit for grit and skill. very interesting . i think the blues are weak on left side D and strong on right side D. Hyman suits blues style of play

Leafs could use grit on back end but the prize is thomas.

Problem here is thomas is only 20 so might not be a player blues feel comfortable dealing him at this point

Still this deal actually strengthens the blues.

Nothing about this is "interesting" or anything.
Thomas alone is worth Hyman and Dermott several times, period. If you want good value, give good value in return. As easy as that.

He has way more potential than you realize. If you would have watched the blues in playoffs and saw how awesome this 19 year old was you would see why we covet him so much.

Look people this is why each Team might consider this Trade Proposal.

For the Leafs Sandin looks like the Real Deal and they still need a solid Defensive Defenceman that shoots Right, Bortuzzo gives them that.
Thomas fits into the now and future for the Leafs you can never have enough Centres and next season I see Spezza gone and Bracco up playing along side Thomas and that would be a heck of a 4th Line.
Cap Wise it's gives Toronto a bit extra to carry 2 extra.

For the Blues Bortuzzo is that extra RHanded Shooting Defenceman they don't need with the big 3 in place, the Left Side is weaker with really only Dunn and 2 aging Players in Bouwmeester and Gunnarsson, Dermott would really make the Defense maybe the best in the NHL.
Hyman fits right into the Blues style of play and replaces what they had last season with Ferland.
Blues would be a better Team making this Trade and the Leafs need some grit on Defense.
