-I don’t think Nashville is interested in trading Ekholm.
-Backlund isn’t a legit #2 center, he’s a really good 3C that’s playing 2C, He’s never really impressed with offensive production in his career, over 50P once. 4P now in 15G and like 324P in 635G. Nothing that screams legit 2C to me. Good defensively tho and to me would be one of the best 3C in the league. That should be his role.
-Leafs don’t have a 2020 1st do they? Had trade it with Marleau to get rid of that mistake contract.

Just because Calgary is using Frolik and Backlund on their second line doesn’t mean they are actually second line, top six forwards. They are both over 30 and neither one is doing well.
Toronto gets worse. No way they make that deal. Andersson is not a top 4 defenseman. Even Calgary is using him on their third line, and that’s exactly where Leafs would play him too. He’s not top line player and he isn’t going to knock Barrie off the second line.

The homerism is showing in hockeyfanatic. the flames were 1st in the west last season by playing 3rd and 4th line players on their 2nd line? Andersson has better numbers than Barrie this year so that mean Barrie is a 7th defenseman? don't spread your bias opinions if you don't know what you're talking about.

Andersson is a top 4 rhd, Backlund is a good 2 way 2C, and how did i post the same Toronto/Calgary trade. I took out Brodie and added Andersson. Wow ya'll are clueless about hockey jesus christ. And btw your right Andersson would knock Barrie off of the 2nd pairing cause he'd be on the 1st with Rielly and Ceci would be knocked down to 3rd pair. Get some hockey sense enough with the Bias.

That price seems a little steep from Toronto also they traded their 2020 1st to Toronto I’d to Kappy, Kerfoot, Prospect and 2nd 2020 for Bennet and Andersson.

Solid NO from leafs, they have lots of young talent already, aren't giving away top 3 prospect, AND, Kerfoot is a really good 3rd line centre considering matthews and tavares getting all the playing time, amazing for flames, but, leafs would be screwed if they did that trade. They also don't have a 1st.

If Calgary is playing 3rd and 4th line guys on their 2nd then why are they ahead of the Leafs and why did they finish 2nd in the West last year. Gotta face reality here. Frolik is a detriment to any trade and no one wants his half effort for 4+M . Flames are stuck with him until his contract runs out unless they trade an unprotected first with him.
