Seems like way too much for Patrick.

Too much for Patrick.

I don't really see anything special about Patrick. I'm not saying its going to happen, but there is a chance that Poehling, Brook and whoever the 1st rounder may be, all have better careers than Patrick. its unlikely, but it could happen.

Take the first out and it's a good offer for both sides.

None of the Habs players have played a single game in the nhl yet. Patrick has almost 150 games played and is only 21. He’s been playing in the nhl since he was drafted. He is much better than those three guys. The 1st wouldn’t even be on the team until at least three years maybe more.

Pohling scored a hatrick in his 1st nhl game. So he has played a game in nhl.

15 Nov 2019 10:03:41
He's been playing in the NHL since he was drafted, but he dint show any signs of being a number 1 center, and that offer with the first would get a #1 center. It's similar to what Ryan O'Reilly got. Patrick is looking like possibly a second line center but even that he hads't proven yet. Both the MTL guys havetons of potential and that's all I would offer from MTL.

15 Nov 2019 19:03:11
Uh no orielly got a 1st and tags Thompson whom at 22 hasn't proven mil quality yet and two cap dumps.

15 Nov 2019 22:42:28
Agree with redwing. So what Poehling scored a hat trick. Don’t even try pretend he’s Matthews.

15 Nov 2019 23:13:35
It doesn’t matter Poehling played a game and scored 40 goals. The fact is Patrick is proven at the nhl level. All those other guys can’t even make a lowly Habs team. Maybe in three years after these guys prove they are nhl level like Patrick is this could maybe be discussed.

I think Habs say no based off of needs.
1) the draft is in Montreal do you really think they trade their first?
2) Habs need D more than C
3) Patrick is always injured and trading that much for a broken player is not worth it

Also @ HockeyFanatic you call them lowly but they are top 10 in points and top 10 in gf. You can argue any trade you want but I never understand why people trash on teams to try to prove the trade.

16 Nov 2019 14:54:26
Patrick's upside is still huge. He could pan into a solid two way center who averages 75 plus pts a season which would categorize him as a no.1 center on at least half of the teams. That's why I threw in a first round pick.

That’s why prospects/ young players are hard to value because ya there potential is huge sometimes but if they don’t do much in there short NHL time there value plummets even tho they still have potential.
