Montreal probably wouldn’t even do that! They play together pretty well as a team, have cap space and can improve. I wouldn’t want to add Mattews and that contract to that group if I was Montreal. How mad would Leaf Land be seeing Their king Mattews in a Habs Jersey tho.

I think I will have to pass as MTL. I think if they hold course, we have a promising group of prospects coming up. I hope they don't try and rush it.

Value wise, i think Petry and Barrie are pretty close, even if Barrie does not have a great start. Petry is older. Matthews is worth Domi, Kotkaniemi and at least a 2rd. Mtl can deal with Matthews contract, a number 1 center for a decade.

What do you think a trade TorMtl involving Matthews would look like?
