Montreal trades three defenders, including their captain, and don’t bring anyone in for replacement? Kinda begs the question who plays defense for Montreal after? The Toronto trade would never happen anyway for the all the same reasons listed below in previous suggestions.

I've been just been lurking on here for a while, but I had to make an account after seeing this post. Canucks players and prospects are criminally underrated on this site. Gaudette has been spicy this year playing nearly ppg and yet all he can get back is a bottom pairing defenceman? I don't get it.

No way in a million years Toronto makes that trade. Weber is going to drop off very soon and very hard and his contract is one of the worst in hockey. Nylander is a very good player with a very good contract. The Leafs need defenceman next year, but not that bad.

Maybe Gaudette has more value I honestly didn't see him play. This trades are to rebuild and get a stud player in this draft.

Gaudette is 23 and hasn’t even played a full season in the nhl yet. He’s off to a great start, but still unproven. Maybe after a full season or two with decent numbers he gets a top 4 defenseman. Right now probably not. Which means that all he gets in a trade is a bottom pairing defenseman, yes.
