I love how everyone went on about how Nylander is overpayed and a cap dump etc of the 4 core forwards he probably has the best contract. I don't know how none of you guys didn't expect a bounce back season.

Anyway here is an offer what do you guys think?

Toronto- Jeramy Bracco, 2nd 2020 and 2nd 2021

Montreal- Jeff Petry 50% retained

Toronto- Petry would be an upgrade over Ceci on the top pair while coming cheap. Bracco probably won't be able to crack the leafs RW depth so he is expendable.

Canadians- If the Canadians sell off a couple of assets at the deadline they could end up in a really good position at the draft. I don't think they'll be able to compete so they may as well move Petry and Kovy. Bracco could crack the Canadians 2nd line RW spot next season potentially if not a team like Calgary would love him and the two 2nds give the Canadians more draft options

Leafs don't have thier first this year I doubt they will trade their second.

Montreal has several better options then bracco already in the system and petry won't be traded unless their is a 1st coming back they are not going to create a huge hole on right D going forward for that package.

I knew Nylander at 6.9 was a decent contract, never thought it was an overpayment. A lot of people (some leafs fans included) still think he's making 10 mil because the 1st year was prorated. In a perfect world he'd be somewhere around 6.5-6.7 but its not a bad contract.

Your trade might also need to include Ceci to make the cap work, but I do think it is fair value. Its just hard to imagine MTL doing a deal with the Leafs mid season.

I get the 2nd for retaining 50%, but then bracco a 2nd doesn't get you petry . Why is he in every Toronto proposal? he's an Ahler on most teams. He has little to no value.
