VGK: Statsny

Jets get back Statsny and reunite him with Ehlers and Laine for a year. Note with the Littlei injury they can afford the salary. Knights get rid of a contract and a pick that they're missing for this year.

Easy no from Winnipeg. Stastny produces the same or slightly less than Little and is being paid more. Vegas got him by offering the extra year that Winnipeg wouldn't. So there is no reason for the Jets to bail Vegas out of a bad contract now without compensation.

Maybe if Vegas wanted to attach a 1st or 2nd or a nice prospect to Stastny the Jets could take him as a cap dump, but Stastny is not worth giving up something as valuable as a 2nd in a deep draft.

Jets would do this trade tho. Who would Vegas have left for centers after trading Eakin already tho?

Come the draft I think the jets will assess their needs and make wise deals. July 1st use some of their cap space for free agent signings. I like Stasny but his contract $6.5 mil, UFA next season and age will have the Jets look at a different option for a #2 center.

What do overpaid third line centers with one year left on their deal go for these days anyway? I haven't kept up with the market. A 2nd seems like too much though.

You are definitely correct there St. Louis Fan. A second is way too much to give up for a cap dump. Maybe at next year's TDL someone might give that up to add some depth, but if Vegas expects to move Stastny in the summer, they would need to add something to him or retain a ton to get a marginal prospect or low pick back.

Jets add Roslovic tho this deal and it’s closer. Maybe Roslovic and a 3rd pick + the second rd pick.

Stasny is washed up and overpayed he’s not worth his contract.
