So a rebuilding team trades a top 10 pick for a 34 year old and whatever you want to call Montreal trades there best player/ captain for a player who they already traded for Locker room reasons who just came off the worst season in his career ( still think he is a good player nowhere near his contract value tho ) . Bad for NJ because they trade a 1st midway through rebuild and honestly if I’m Montreal and I don’t think I can compete with Weber and Price I ask NJ to retain abit, and pull the trigger ( solely because of the 1st ) . Then retain more on Subban and flip him to the leafs or someone then move price and compete with there young core maybe keep Tatar and Petry as vets.

If you want PK back the Devils would probably do Mete or Kulak for PK straight up. Both are young enough to mesh with their core and both have decent offence and skating to be second pairing. Devils would have to retain 40-50% but they could easily do that although it may cost the Habs a 2nd or 3rd. The question is though would MB even consider it.

Bergevin would love Subban back in mtl. Subban is older and more mature now, great fit I believe.

I was against the Subban for Weber deal in the day. however, Weber is a beast, will be till he's 40.
I like PK, however, since he started playin with the Skier, he's a 2nd pairing guy. with a future job on NBC.
