Its a close trade but would TB do it?

13 Jun 2020 16:10:34
@islandjet Tampa is weak on LW and strong on C having Stamkos, Cirelli, Johnson. On LW they only have Killorn and Palat.

Unbiased interesting comment so then TB may do this trade.

13 Jun 2020 18:54:43
C > LW. Is Point a product of TB? Not sure but seems like they’d be giving up the more valuable piece in the trade.

13 Jun 2020 19:44:45
If I were Tampa I would definitely want an add to Gaudreau. Gaudreau is UFA in two years, while Point is still RFA and then you have to consider the terrible season Gaudreau had.

13 Jun 2020 21:35:56
Is this a joke? A U25 1C for a small winger who is a UFA in 2 years not to mention is awful in the playoffs. The cap situation with Guadreau would be horrendous for Tampa in 2 years.

13 Jun 2020 23:26:15
If you think about it Gaudreau wouldn’t be hard to sign because he would be in the East where he wants to be. And him and Point would have similar contracts. And you can’t really call Gaudreau a small winger when Point himself is a small center.

Also, Point is a very good two-way player with many already thinking of him as the catalyst for TBs offense. More valuable to out offense than Stamkos, imo.
No way in hell TB does this.
