You would need to add a heck of a lot more than Demko if you want Detroit to take Eriksson off your hands for 2 more years at full cap hit and have Detroit give you back a 3rd.

16 Jun 2020 21:56:54
I think Detroit would be crazy to pass that up.

16 Jun 2020 22:43:20
Not opposed to the premise here but going to need either a bigger add from Vancouver or we lower that draft pick.

Eriksson is a cap dump and you have to pay to dump him.

17 Jun 2020 10:23:23
Nucks won’t trade Demko.

17 Jun 2020 12:49:34
Demko could probably get a 3rd on his own if Vancouver decides to sell him.

Adding a Cap Dump in Eriksson should lower the return from the other team as they are taking on salary?

Isn’t that how it works?

17 Jun 2020 14:17:43
Demko is worth more then a 3rd probably a second and prospect.

17 Jun 2020 15:55:12
It’s crazy how undervalued Demko is lol

He can easily move a cap dump and get something like a third in return.

17 Jun 2020 16:38:25
Toronto needed to add a 1st to dump 1 year of Marleau. It’d take more then a 1st to dump Ericksson. Torontos 1st>Demko.

17 Jun 2020 17:01:28
Demko>>Toronto’s 1st is more accurate, but why should I expect anything different.

17 Jun 2020 18:14:08
Veritus, the last two goalies to get a first were Lehner to Sabres and Schneider to Devils (There May be others I forgot)

Goalies do not get a first that often and buyers are aware of doing so. Demko is a very good goalie and I would like him in Detroit but adding a Cap Dump diminishes his value that would start at a 2nd at best, 3rd at worst.

So to expect a good pick in return while adding a Cap Dump, is not likely.

If you want to move him separately, go for it and have fun with Eriksson.

Some mediocre goalie named Fredric Anderson got a 1st and a 2nd or 3rd, iirc.

18 Jun 2020 16:27:00
Andersson was a young proven starter with playoff experience when he was acquired for that. Demkos value is lower then what Anderssons was and there isn’t much of a need for goaltending around the NHL.

18 Jun 2020 20:27:09
Demko is a couple years younger than Andersen was at the time of his trade. He has less experience yes but this year was a big leap for him and he did not bad. I’d say with his higher pedigree he’s worth at least as much maybe more than Andersen at the time of his trade.

Andersson also went a slight bit cheaper, as they were shopping him around. They had Gibson and Vegas draft coming.
