If The Leafs end up first losing in the first round then winning 1st Overall in the Draft Lottery, and Drafting Lafreniere, this is a Trade Proposal I see.

That’s a big “if” lol. Also this is an overpayment by the leafs, Risto isn't even worth half that.

Yes the mostleaf33 it's a big if.
But to fit in Lafreniere and Barabonov 2 forwards would have to go and Ristolainen replaces Dermott and is a Right Handed Shot.
Ristolainen is on a bad Team is why he is underated, put him on The Leafs with that talent and he will be a much better Defenceman.
He was a Top 10 Draft Pick not that long ago.

Why wouldn't the leafs make a trade like this anyways? They can always bring up bracco the star to fill in forward depth.

Monkey its because Risto isn’t really the defenceman we need. However, if Buffalo were to retain 50% to allow the leafs to find a proper partner for Reilly, they may go for it. Ristolainen and Muzzin may actually be a decent pair considering Muzzin is a big body who could play a more defensive role while Risto puts up offence and plays on the second PP unit.

At only 2.7 mill maybe the leafs would go for it because they could also probably get a more defensive guy like Roy or Demelo or even possibly Pesce to play with Reilly.

Risto and Muzzin wouldn’t be a good pair both players aren’t good at transition. Muzzin is below average and Risto is the worst in the NHL at that, maybe. Risto and Sandin now would be a match made in heaven Sandin is excellent at transition and Risto would provide a physical presence keeping him from being Bullied like he was when he went up with the leafs.
