Winnipeg trades: 10th overall pick
Tampa Bay trades: C Anthony Cirelli
Maybe I just think highly of Cirelli but I think he's the next Sean couturier and maybe even better. Being a jets fan and knowing we could potentially pick a great young D with that selection I'd still feel comfy making this deal. Also Tampa ain't got enough $ for him.
OR
Winnipeg trades: C Mason Appleton & a conditional 3rd round pick
Montreal trades: C Max Domi
The pick will change to a 2nd if Domi signs and scores x amount of goals. Win win for Montreal because Domis leaving town regardless IMO. Domi gets to play where his dad did and gets to play centre where he'd likely have Laine and Ehlers on his line.

Why would Montreal want mason Appleton? Is it because his hair would match the jersey? Habs already have 10 mason appletons in the Ahl.

The first trade is fair if not an overpay. As for Domi, with his new agent and what looks like a determination to be overpaid or force his way to UFA in two years, Winnipeg should have no interest.

That’s ok joe we will give you guys Lukas Verdemjo and a 3rd for Ehlers if your worried about Domi creating cap issues.

Cause that conditional 3rd round pick is such a huge payment? Montreal will easily get offered more.

I could see TB trading Cirelli for a draft pick because the don't have the cap space to resign him so teams could get Cirelli on the cheap. The Jets need a true #2 center and have to stop trying to force a 3rd line center onto a line with Ehlers and Laine. The money Domi would want would take away what the Jets would have to pay for a good center.

Cirelli won't be traded, when will you guys understand that :D.
