Just a thought, Torts loves players that work and play hard. What would be the possibility of a trade with Calgary that would send Mikael Backlund their way. They need a solid 2C and have more than enough cap space.

To CLB - Mikael Backlund & 75th Overall Pick (3rd)
To CGY - 21st Overall Pick (1st)


Calgary could benefit with more cap space and Dube can easily fit on the 2nd Line C.

Dube might fit into the 2c role later, but he can't replace backlund right now.

Also lindholm would be 2c.

Columbus doesn't have enough Cap Space to make this deal.

If they trade their 1st they won't have a pick until the 4th round, and after trading so many picks last year, they'll be unlikely to want to do that.

Calgary does want Anderson. However Anderson is returning from injury after a long recovery and needs a new contract. Is he going to return the form he showed just prior to the injury?

Columbus isn't willing to gamble he will and give him the contract he wants, neither should Calgary and that lowers his value in a trade.
