Russell is a cap dump but it only took a 2nd to trade Staal and he makes 1.7M more than Russell. Maybe a 3rd or 4th to dump Russell?

The difference is rangers paid to get rid of the contract where in this trade Winnipeg gets nothing for that cap hit. Oilers would need to add a 2nd or a prospect to get anyone to take Russell.
