Laine probably won't be moved because I can promise with absolute certainty with this financial situation no team will step up and pay a big price for a winger demanding huge salary next year. Any deal the jets would make will be a loss other teams no he wants out and their leverage is low. They will probably ride out next year then he'll file for arbitration. I will bet my life savings that Laine will not be a career jet whether he leave VIA trade or Free agency. Let's be realistic Jets won't move him within the conference.

Teams that can't afford him or don't have a need are- Islanders, Capitals, Montreal, Toronto, Rangers, Penguins, and Tampa

Him and Torts is a no go so forget Columbus

That leaves Carolina, Florida, New Jersey, Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Ottawa and Philly

Out of those 8 teams atleast a couple aren't interested due to his attitude, internal cap, Coaches opinion, aren't willing to meet asking price, contract uncertainties, etc

Realistically Ottawa won't pay that next huge contract so they're out. Carolina is interesting maybe something around Pesce or Hamilton, Florida could put together a good futures package, Detroit could offer something around Mantha, Boston would certainly move Debrusk +, New Jersey would probably do Pamileri + Severson, Buffalo would offer Risto+ futures and Philly is probably the most interesting with a deep prospect pool/ win now pieces but they probably are looking to replace Niskannen

Not much in there is based on any actual fact or report. The only thing correct in this post is that Laine probably won't be traded, at least right now. I think that is the only thing Nylander has ever gotten right in one of his/ her posts.

I don't understand where they considered him to have and add a tude.

20 Oct 2020 19:50:26
Having a preference of who you want to play with is no different for him than it is when tavares wanted to play with marner.

20 Oct 2020 21:15:44
Unless Laine says he doesn't want to stay in Winnipeg he won't be traded anytime soon. The Jets have control of him for 3 more years so they aren't in any hurry to make a move.

He is known to be overconfident and be negatively vocal. He often blames the team and not himself. He isn’t a leader but he also isn’t a locker room cancer. Any team would want him but he is very overrated by jets fans and wouldn’t return as much as people think probably a quantity package.

21 Oct 2020 02:16:21
A lot of what Nylander said makes sense and is factual memarcus. In fact the two teams I’ve heard most heavily linked to him right now are Florida and Philly but neither willing to give up what Winnipeg wants. His agent also said they haven’t demanded a trade but think it’s the best option for both parties.

21 Oct 2020 10:37:45
I agree with a lot of things that Nylander said but to say he’s overrated is a bit of a stretch. Everyone would love to have a pure goal scorer on their team. He also got way better with his defensive game, he’s 6’5 so it would be huge if he played his actual size.

21 Oct 2020 13:42:35
Laine never talks negatively about his team mates only his own play. He's hard on himself and wants to win. Both Laine and Ehlers have only played with a good center for 3 months when the Jets traded for Stastny. Now with Stastny back he and Ehlers finally have a center they both have chemistry with. The Jets will have a 1A, 1B top two lines which will both be getting close to equal ice times. Now its all about Laines contract so expect his agents to do all the talking as Chevy never negotiates in the press.

21 Oct 2020 14:49:53
Jets fans act like he’s worth a 1c when in reality he’s a one dimensional winger coming off a weak season. Laine can’t drive a line he is a complimentary piece. That’s what a lot of people don’t understand. He’s basically a winger version of Kevin Hayes with a top 3 shot in the nhl who doesn’t use his size.

21 Oct 2020 15:50:40
Philly has been rumoured in on him all along but don’t want to part with Sanheim or Koneckny in a Deal for him.

Florida is now heating up as he’s been seen working out with Barkov in Finland and panthers just let Hoffman and Dadonov walk, meaning they saved their money and lost near 60 goals from their roster.

Thirdly I wouldn’t count CBJ out because Jarmo Kaikaleinen has the Finnish connection and loved him before his draft year and said long before Laine was Considered a top 3 pick that he was better than Puli and it wasn’t a popular opinion at the time. They also cleared a ton of cap for Hall and missed out. (Just not sure about a Laine/ Tortorella relationship) CBJ is a very blue collar team as constructed.

I tend to agree, and given that your name is "Nylander", that's saying something.

IF C.V. were over, I can see a team that's struggling try to make a deal for him, or sign him, to help build excitement among a struggling team's fan base. But who knows when that will be.

I think Winnipeg trades him, within the conference or not, because they simply have to make the best deal for that franchise.

21 Oct 2020 18:05:23
Matthews is the timid, one trick pony who doesn't drive the play but needs line mates to set him up in order to score. Don't worry the Jet have no intention of trading Laine anytime soon so all of these foolish posts are good for a laugh.

21 Oct 2020 18:23:53
Philly would absolutely trade Sanheim+ for Laine. I get there a little weak on D but it’s hard to think they wouldn’t make that trade.

21 Oct 2020 19:37:09
Yeah. The guy that is putting up near historic numbers for goal scoring at even strength doesn’t know how to drive the play. lol

Look at percentage of goals scored by AM and PL on the PP vs 5v5, then goals standing still on a half way vs the rush, vs tips in front of the net, rebounds etc. Not even close. One guys goal totals are divided Equally amongst Different ways. The other guy is 40% the exact same goal when someone else does all the work and puts it on a tee for him.

Not to mention Matthews has 20 more career goals in 30 less games than the Next Ovi in WPG.

Laine is the Jets 4th best forward behind Sheif, Wheeler and Connor. The Leaf comparable to Laine is Nylander, always has been, always will be.

22 Oct 2020 00:02:07
Where did AUSton come from? Lol. And for all the talk that Laines going to outproduce Auston in goals and that's why Laine>MAtthews? Matthews is beating him in goals, lol. SAmpson perfectly wraps that arguement up, imo.

22 Oct 2020 13:18:22
Ebs the reports right now are that Sanheim is off limits in a Laine deal. Can always change but right now they haven’t been willing to include him.

22 Oct 2020 16:13:24
TopShelf- Where did Auston come from in this conversation?

The short answer is “Winnipeg and Islandjets inferiority complex”.

22 Oct 2020 16:19:57
Fire the GM then. Lol that seems ridiculous. Sanheim is what a career number 4 maybe number 3 D?

22 Oct 2020 22:46:46
The Mathews comment isn’t worth replying to but the Flyers absolutely would not trade lSanhiem even for Laine he’s way to important. I get Laine has more value but Niskannen was a huge loss to their Dcore. Unless they Sign Hamonic or someone Sanhiem will stay as the Flyers #2 dman.
