I know Laine maybe a stud. Goal scorer.
But Konecny can put up points as well. And does all the little things to win. Unlike Laine.
Laine did prove he can back check, but it's when he feels like it. I've seen Laine play.
He is not consistent.
Face it sooner or later Laine is going to be traded. I don't know how he is in the locker room, but heard Konecny is liked by his teammates. Team morale is important.
Hagg may not be the top 4 dman. But he is consistently solid.

Konecny > Laine for me. It's not "jets hate" either. They are one of my favourite teams in the league. I just like Konecny's style of play and his contract. To each their own I guess.
