But, I'd say the gap between Laine and Nylander is bigger than the combined gap of Hyman+Dermott compared to Roslovic and Beaulieu.

Even then, even if this was fair value, what does this accomplish? Two wingers swapped for one another, a third liner swapped for a UFA second liner, and two third pairing dmen swapped for one another. It's so lateral, that nothing happens, besides Winnipeg downgrading on the wing behind Connor, and upgrading their depth with Hyman, and Toronto gets another winger to add to their collection of forward depth which they have plenty of, while taking away the one top6 forward they have that is a defensive presence.

Not great overall.

How is WNylander over paid at $6,962.366 over the next 4yrs?
Isn't Laine a one dimensional player as well? and Dermott only has the depth against him with Lehtonen and Bogosian on The Leafs he is a solid young Defenceman on a good contract.
I just put an idea out there and yes probably more so The Leafs will stay the course with what they already have.

Due to cap space and contracts. Laine is just a rental for the leafs. They can't afford his next contract.
