No from Winnipeg. Myers is a nice start but obviously needs a 1st attached and something better than a wing downgrade. Poorly thought out once again as Philly can't afford to lose another defenseman with Niskanen retiring. Put down the X Box controller and research team needs, strengths and weaknesses just a little bit.

It will also need to wait until next summer as there is almost no chance Laine is traded now and the price will likely be higher then.

I’d honestly say no from Philly on this one. Konecny puts up just as many points but also has a very solid two way game and Myers is solid defensively, young and happens to be a RHD. I think Winnipeg thinks very hard on this one, Laine could potentially be a 40-50 goal scorer everybody knows this.

Looks like an overpayment so I guess that is what it is going to take. I wouldn't do it if I was philly. Konecny is on a contract for $5.5M until 2024/ 25 and Laine is a rental needing a new contract at the end of the year when he becomes a RFA.

Seems like a lot from Philly, considering Konecny is pretty much a PPG guy with that gritty aspect to his game.

.63 points per game is "pretty much a PPG guy"? That is a pretty loose definition there Topshelf.

19 Jan 2021 15:30:17
It sounds like someone doesn't know what the term "rental" means.

19 Jan 2021 15:39:58
Might be too early to stay point per game now but if he can get 50 points this season TopShelf is right. He’s already got 5 in 3 games. Lol.

The Jets fans don't come up with these trade rumors we just react and give our opinion. Laine will not be traded at this time unless its a big overpay which no real GM would do.

19 Jan 2021 16:26:07
Maybe rental isn't the best term as he is a RFA (which i did include) . But you don't know what kind of contract he will get after this and his qualifying offer has to be $7.5M or above. Laine is 1 year younger and definitely came out of the gates faster, but Konecny has been getting better every year and is on an upward trajectory.
I think this might get Laine out of WPG, but it would be a hard deal for Philly, especially with the flat cap we are dealing with now.

You can’t be serious? No from Philly. I’ll bet money Konechny out produces Laine this season.

Yeah, its def early to say he is going to be PPG, bad choice of wording, haha @Ebs. 61 in 66 last season and a good start this year, he def looks to be trending towards a consistent 70+ point guy.
