This is my dream leafs deadline.

Toronto- Alex Kerfoot and 3rd 2021

Calgary- Sam Bennet 50% retained

Toronto- gets a solid playoff performer who plays a more physical game but the biggest reason is cap space.

Calgary- gets the better player who can play RW on 2nd line.

Toronto- Pierre Engvail, Rasmus Sandin, and 2021 1st

Or

Pierre Engvail, Timothy Lilijgren, Travis Dermott, 2021 1st and 2022 2nd

Columbus- Nick Foligno 50% retained and David Savard 50% retained

Toronto- Nick Foligno is a heart and sole player who plays a elite defensive game and a solid acceptable top 6 game. He's a player that you win a Stanley cup with and IMO he's a peice that can can push the leafs over the edge. A lot of people don't understand how good he is. David Savard bring a solid number 4 dman rental. He's often been a target for leafs fans and this is the most realistic time to get him.

Columbus- ASSUMING THE JAKETS ARE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS BY THE DEADLINE they get a great package for 2 pending UFAs instead of losing them for nothing. they can resign both in offseason as the leafs can't afford either.

Calgary and Columbus wouldn’t retain, they don’t have much cap space. I like the pick ups for the Leafs but I don’t see how they could possibly get it done

MoxNix you do realize Sandin would be the best prospect in the Blue Jackets and Flames organization without a debut right? Maybe search up players before you comment.

Maybe do some searching yourself.

The Flames don't want to move Bennett at all. Team management likes him, the players like him and the fans love him. Sure if another team comes along with the right offer they'd consider it but the likes of Kerfoot and a 3rd isn't it.

Just because an player's agent makes a stupid comment doesn't mean the team is suddenly going to take a bad trade to get rid of the player. Especially not when the player in question is one other teams always ask for during trade discussions.

There was no mention of Sandin to the flames I just stated a fact that he’s better then any prospect in the flames organization. Brian Burke ( former GM and just hired as President of ops on the Penguins ) said Bennets value is extremely low.

It’s funny how you buy into the propaganda the flames put out as damage control in a desperate attempt to try to recover some of Bennets value. Yeah teams know he wants out. Teams ideally don’t hold onto players who want out that makes their organization look bad. If you truly did by into the propaganda that Bennet actually didn’t ask for a trade then go google Sam Bennet interview on being scratched. He said something along the lines of the flames are playing mind games with him. When asked about the trade request he said “no comment”

It’s only a matter of time before Bennet is moved anyone with a brain can see that. Why else would he be a healthy scratch one game then moved up to the 1st line after. It’s to showcase the player to get value.

Anyways if you don’t like Kerfoot the trade premise was to
Shed cap while bringing in a competent C. Paquette on Ottawa would also make sense.

I wouldn’t be interested in either CbJ one right now, but I would love that CGY one from a leafs perspective. Kerfoot and a 3rd MIGHT be enough for Bennett, probably not. But definitely not if you want them to retain salary too.
