Toronto Trades
Mikheyev
Dermott
Hirvonen (SHL)
1st Round Pick 2021

Vancouver Trades
JTMiller
6th Round Pick 2021

Vancouver also retains 50% of JTMiller's 3yrs that is remaining on his contract because of Cap Space.

Vancouver needs to not fully rebuild but they need to retool some to get to the next level and this type of trade proposal does that.
Toronto gets that Top 6 Forward that will slide on LW nicely with Tavares and Nylander.

Why would Vancouver want to trade one of there best players?

12 Feb 2021 13:27:47
@Itookdoncherry have you watched The Vancouver Canucks play this season?
They need to make changes, Pettersson, Boesar, Horvat and QHughes are the main core for Vancouver that you don't trade, but players like JTMiller are support players that you move because they have value, Virtanen another probably that will be traded doesn't have much value and those type players I believe will also be traded, Vancouver needs to make changes as that Team is going nowhere fast and my Trade Proposal will still give them 2 NHL Players right now plus 2 futures for 1 player, that is what Teams like Vancouver do in this situation.

There are rumours that JT Miller might be on the outs but espically at 50% retained we’d be giving up a lot more.

As a Canucks fan, I agree with trading Miller, but, I think Boston would be the main suitors for his services, as their window is closing and they need some 2nd line offense.

I don’t think the Canucks need to panic and I don’t think trading Miller is a good idea. A high draft pick, more experienced Demko and maybe add a piece or two should make them a playoff contender.

@Ebsolutely Thanx for the huge laugh with what you said about The Canucks being close to a playoff contender.
Closer than Ottawa but nowhere even close to being a playoff team nevermind a contender.
On here for some reason even terrible teams like Vancouver are looked at as so close to being a contender and a team like that adds not subtracts players.

I said playoff contender meaning playoff fringe. They have a pretty solid top 9. If they can add a top D (easier said than done), they’d have a deep back end too. Losing Markstom is big but they did play a couple rounds of playoffs just last season.

The Canucks have a few solid pieces but they need to take a step back, fire Benning, trade a few players for draft picks ( Guadette and Virtanen), wait until a few bad contracts expire ( Ericksson, Benn, Rousel, Beagle, Suter ) , Move Pearson at deadline and open up Miller’s name on the block I think they could potentially get a really good package. If they could move him to Colorado for Byram/ Newhook then I’d jump on that.

I don't understand much of this. Vancouver was expected to regress, except by the most homer of Canucks fans. Their core is quite young, had a good playoff last year, but I don't think anyone really expected them to be contending for divisional lead. Fringe playoff at best.

Toronto is looking like they're finally figuring it out, they're playing well in every area, so why change things up? Miller might look good beside tavares and nylander, but what if he doesn't? I don't see Vancouver retaining either, I understand to make cap work, but then they're paying him beyond this season, and they can't afford that.

Overpayment from Toronto and Miller isn't the missing pc.
