Not close

It cut off my comment. Nobody is going to do Toronto a favour and retain 50% salary. Hall can get just as good of an offer at 0% retained.

07 Mar 2021 13:48:54
Just wanted to add to what I said

- Kerfoot is a 3C
- the Leafs 1st round pick will be around 20-30th overall selection
- Kokkonen is a small defensemen (5’10) struggling in an easier league with a -15 +/- @ the age of 20

@NotACasual
Please tell me what contender will Trade for THall and has the Cap Space of 8 million in Salary Space?
Plus Kerfoot is a solid player going to Buffalo in my proposal signed for a few more seasons at only a 3.5m hit, would love to hear a better deal you believe Buffalo can get.
Yes believe it or not Teams trade players to also give them a chance to win and Buffalo is getting assets for THall that's soon to be a UFA.

07 Mar 2021 16:13:21
I don’t think Buffalo accepts. I think they’d rather deal with a team that can get them a prospect that’s close to nhl ready + late pick. They don’t need Kerfoot and definitely don’t want a prospect that will probably never make the league.

While I think Hall is vastly overated, there are teams that will pay more for him.

07 Mar 2021 20:27:31
You’re crazy if you think any team trades for Hall without 50% retained he has a full NMC and his list of teams he’s willing to move to is probably down to 4 or 5 we will see. Looks like this would be in ball park in these uncertain times.

07 Mar 2021 21:23:38
I’d say they’d take

- No salary retention
- 1st round pick
- A- prospect (way better than Kokkonen)
- 2nd/3rd line roster player with half his cap hit around 4-5mil on a short term contract (1-2 years)

It can be done without retaining 50% salary, maybe they retain 20% but not 50%

07 Mar 2021 23:35:58
I’ll bet 1000 dollars when Hall is traded at the very least 25% of his contract is retained.

08 Mar 2021 00:11:08
I agree that Kokonnen and a 1st probably isn't enough for 50% Hall, but I honestly don't see Hall going for more than what he got back from Arizona last year, which was a 1st, Nick Merkley (who was waived this season, so a B prospect) and Kevin Bahl (another B prospect) and that was Hall @6 million.

This season, Hall only has two goals and his point totals are down from his years with Jersey as well, and I don't think Buffalo really has that much leverage - teams will likely bid on him, but if Buffalo holds a really high ask (like the 1st, A prospect and roster player, like you suggested @Casual) with no retention, teams will probably just let them hold onto him and let him walk in free agency for nothing, which is the worst possible outcome for Buffalo. I don't think they really have much options, but I think someone will come up with a decent offer.

I don't think that someone's the Leafs, because I don't think the cap's going to work, however, I think Hall @25% retention will probably get a 1st and two middling prospects, just like last year, potentially from a team like Pittsburgh, Colorado or Florida.

@TSS Calgary offered NJD Hanifin and Bennett for Hall though so idk.

08 Mar 2021 13:55:11
Id stay away from Hall.

08 Mar 2021 15:01:42
Nylander is the most delusional guy on here, he keeps making bets that he won’t follow.

08 Mar 2021 15:13:46
@Casual

Oh yeah, I do remember that rumor coming up. Honestly weird that NJ took Bahl/ Merkley/ 1st over it but maybe they wanted futures? i'd say if Hall was getting traded now, itd be for only like Hanifin (instead of Hanifin/ Bennett) cause imo his value declined since last year, and based on what I’ve seen from Hanifin (you can correct me if I’m wrong i don't watch all too many Flames games), he's improved a lot since last year.

Idk, i'm just not too high on Hall especially with the season he's put together rn, but I do think someone will give up a pretty similar return to last year.

08 Mar 2021 15:18:50
When have I ever been wrong about anything lmao. I said Marner was going to be as good as Kane and people said I was crazy. I taught people the true value of UFAs when they thought Erik Karlsson was going to get a kings ransom, they said I was crazy when I said Tavares was going to be leaf a year in advance and they said I was crazy when I said the leafs wouldn’t trade Marner for Karlsson.

08 Mar 2021 15:20:13
If Buffalo can get a team that is on Halls list to give them a package better than this with 0% retention, then I’ll give Kevyn Adams a ton of credit. But I don’t see that happening at all

That being said, I wouldn’t pay this for him from a leafs perspective. Every team he goes to falls off a cliff, it can’t all be him, he’s a good player, but he’s never done anything that makes me think he’s worth paying 1st round picks/ prospects and a cheaper player having a good year.

If we are giving up a package like that it should be for someone that has shown they can contribute to a winning team. If we are getting up into these prices, I’d rather pay more for Forsberg and have him next year too or pay less and go for Bennett who has great playoff experience and numbers and is harder to play against than another soft perimeter guy.

08 Mar 2021 17:43:09
I can't imagine giving Buf a 1st for Hall. who is UFA after the season, and has stunk up the joint in Buf.

Throw in an extra 2-week quarantine for crossing the border and I just don't see him worth any of it.

Pinball - you are way too sensitive for a guy who throws as many questionable trade theories out there. Have some fun with it, but it has to be a little realistic now and then.

08 Mar 2021 18:33:00
@Nylander

I mean, you did say Roberton's going to be better than Marner, which I really don't think is going to happen. Some stuff may be a bit over-exaggerated, that's all, lol.

08 Mar 2021 19:59:10
“You’d have to throw in a 1st or some prospects for Buffalo to bite” is what you said above in another proposal chickenfoot. Which one is it?

08 Mar 2021 21:49:37
@Toronto17 I was just thinking the same thing lol.

08 Mar 2021 22:27:39
Yea Hanifin has improved a lot, him and Tanev have been our best defensemen this season by far

09 Mar 2021 22:32:16
TORONTO 17 AND SAMPSON:

The deal I suggested the sweeteners for was NOT For Hall. Look it up. You are both wrong.

Trading 3 pieces for a player like present-day Hall is lunacy.
