This is the all in type of Trade Proposal I believe the Leafs should look at, and if anybody tries to say Hirvonen and Kokkonen aren't good Prospects think again, Hirvonen is a main Trade Chip that other Teams are looking at and GMs would love to have him in there Prospect Pool, Kokkonen is a solid Defensive Defenceman as well, add the 1st and 2nd Draft Picks I think San Jose would agree on this deal including the retention of Hertl, Marleau is a depth Winger/Centre that fits more with the Leafs than any other Team minus San Jose, gives him a last chance along with his buddy Thornton to win it all.

Listen every trade that’s made will probably be 50% retained the leafs aren’t the only team tight against the cap.

Teams still have their internal budgets and aren't going to retain 50% to help teams like the leafs that annually can't seem to effectively manage their cap issues. If a team is going to retain, they are going to screw over the leafs just like it happened with the Marleau trade. it's going to cost you a 1st, a prospect and a player since you are up against the cap.
