Hamilton is a UFA and no way Canes do this. They are a cup contender as is. They stick to what they got and conservatively add a goalie and forwards depth then boom they’re better then Tampa.

Why would they consider destroying their team for a 13 million dollar player.
McDavid for Suzuki, Caufield, Romanov, Kotekneimi, Gahllager, 2 1sts and Brendan Guhle?
Lol habs decline and the Canes package is better then that ( Svechnikov is most valuable piece then Aho ) .

It’s kaiden guhle for one. and Montreal would not have the same interest as Carolina potentially would to have the most marketable player in the NHL. now I know you will say Carolina has oretty good fan base and I guess that would be somewhat true Atm. but it’s fragile and having mcdavid would possibly fill the seats even when things were not going as good. I personally wouldn’t make the trade if I’m Carolina but I bet you they don’t laugh at the idea.

Top 3 teams in NHL don’t move core players unless they’re cap strapped. Especially not multiple in the same trade. Take out Svechnikov and the don't laugh at it but is McDavid really worth 5 million more then Aho? From a profit POV yes but not from icing a competitive roster.

Nylander , the canes financial situation is bad, with mcdavid on their roster it help selling merch and seats.

They wouldn’t be making more money because they’d lose out on selling seats in playoffs. Their team is VERY close to a cup they are about 1 solid middle 6 forward and a true starter away + they have the future Capital to pay for it.

Well mcdavid did just have more points then aho and svecnikov combined. maybe they still would make the playoffs. I mean he almost single handily got Edmonton in the playoffs.
