Calgary needs a RW not a LW. With Tkachuk, Mangiapane and Gaudreau the Flames already have too many top 6 LW. They don't need another, especially not one who's way overpaid, is only a little bigger than Gaudreau and nearly as soft.
Calgary would have absolutely no interest in Dermott. They aren't going to trade Tanev (their best defensive defenseman) either unless they're getting a better right shot RD to replace him.
Seth Jones now. If it was up to me I'd trade Gaudreau and Tanev for Jones no problem. Or if Columbus adds Bjorkstrand I'd add something else and I'd even think about making it Andersson instead of Tanev.

Moxnix, in all honesty if Calgary gets offered Marner straight up for Gaudreau and Taney they take it 100%. Marner has his own problems but he would be the best player on your team and you would have him for longer then probably both the guys you giving up. Marker has more value then this tho. And this is coming from a Habs fan.

Marner is a Right winger and former junior linemate of Tkachuk back in Junior, when they won the Memorial Cup.
He is a much better player than Gaudreau, and I strongly dislike the Leafs.
As a Canuck fan, I am well aware of how good Tanev is, one of the best defensive defensemen in the league,

Lmao Marner has never played LW in his life. He played centre a little bit in Junior and in minor hockey but never LW. He is a right hand shot the Calgary doesn’t have. Also Marner would have the most take aways and block shots for forwards on the flames so how does that make him soft.
Zero interest in this as a leafs fan.

I also would like to add that Marner was better then Matthews in the round against Habs. Yes Matthews scored 1 goal. But Marner was more implicated and had a lot more quality scoring chances that he created for himself. Plus he killed a lot of penalties. I thought he could of done better but he wasn’t bad by any means. Price was just too damn good!

If the leafs trade Marner it better be for a guy like Tkachuk, not another soft player. Marner is a great player and yes Nylander he does a lot of those things well, including killing penalties. Saying he’s soft is because he avoids contact for the most part. That doesn’t work in the playoffs. I wouldn’t trade Marner unless someone nasty and talented was coming back. Look how young the leafs core is, other than Tavares, no need to give up on them. They just need their balls to drop. I know I’ve said myself I would trade Nylander but that’s just because I don’t like his defensive play. They were so close to finishing the habs in 5, maybe they deserve to mature some more to take that next step. A lot of people said their window was closing, not even close IMO. They’ve already replaced Andersen and Sandin looks great for his age. I don’t want to lose Hyman but I’m sure he’s replaceable.

I don’t think any team wants a playoff liability in Tkachuk who does nothing offensively or Defensively. Atleast Marner gets a lot of chances and is an elite PKer.

That's pretty much exactly how Flames fans view Gaudreau. Yes he's a very talented player but he's soft, avoids contact and that doesn't work in the playoffs.
If we're going to trade Gaudreau we want someone fairly talented and a whole lot grittier coming back. Not another highly skilled but soft player, especially not one making > $4 million more than he does.
Also Nylander was pretty good in this year's playoffs. It would be foolish to trade him now.
But hey if Toronto fans insist. Gaudreau for Nylander sounds a heck of lot better now than it did at the start of this season. :)

I don’t believe they have replaced Anderson to be honest with you Toronto17. Campbell is a great stop gap but he isn’t a true number 1 goalie. If Montreal had Jack Campbell and Toronto had Carey Price, it would be Toronto waiting on who they are playing next.

JAnderson, Campbell was not at fault for losing. There weakness was there forwards only. Campbell played pretty good in the series. Not willing to guarantee he is not a potential number one.

Campbell is as good as Andersen is what I was getting at. I didn’t say he was one of the top goalies in the league like Price is.

Y’a but Anderson sucks so what’s the point of getting a goalie as good as him. You guys need a number 1 goalie and 1 player like Josh Anderson and another one like Brendan Gallagher. Then you guys would be a legit Stanley cup contender.
