Kinda reminds me of the Stepan trade the Sens made. Investing in a guy they can hopefully sell for more at the deadline.

If his play doesn’t drop off I bet he gets more then a 2nd at deadline. without the expansion draft upcoming the isles don’t trade him that cheap.

That makes sense in my mind. Also this draft is weaker so giving up one of our 3 2nds is not bad in my books and we get out of Panik’s extra year.

Leddy will be with us for a year or less if moved at deadline.

Like an offensive mentor for Seider as he’s strong on defense already that he could probably use insights on how to grow his offensive side of the game.

I'm expecting his stats to drop some, going from islanders to red wings. But mostly a team drop, and not his actual play. Though he'll probably look worse on the eyeball test, as trotz's system was great for him.
