Florida gets better depth on Defense.

Toronto gets a tough Defenceman which they need.

Florida wouldn't do this trade as they like having a physical, second pairing d-man. Dermott and Hol have a $3.5 mil cap hit while Gudas has a $2.5 which in this NHL makes a big difference.

I think I'd rather have Holl over Gudas to be honest.

Holl>Gudas for the price. No from Toronto. Both are about the same, Gudas more physical, Holl more mobile. Holl’s slightly cheaper so I wouldn’t want to give up Dermott AND Holl for a single dman. Even of its to get Lily playing time, i’d rather just ship Dermott for a mid round pick from soneone in need of dmen (Vancouver? ) to recoup assets.

Tough call. It's true Toronto does need to get tougher but I don't think I'd trade Holl for Gudas, not even straight up.

Holl isn't great but he isn't bad either. He might not be as tough as Gudas but he isn't soft (unlike certain other Leafs defensemen) . Holl has good size plays D first and is willing to hit or take a hit.
