Canucks need to reset, fire Jim benning and Travis green and start a quick rebuild.

Canucks- Elias Pettersson
Senators- Drake Batherson, 2021 2nd, 2022 3rd
Canucks get a really good player on a reasonable contract, while Ottawa gets a very skilled player

Canucks- JT Miller, Justin Dowling
Canadiens- 2021 1st via Carolina, 2021 3rd best of there picks in that rounds, Jake Evan, Alexander Romanov

Canucks get back more picks and a couple decent young players, which can be useful back end players when they are trying to compete or can be traded for impact players.

Canucks- OEL, Brock Boeser
Sabres- Alex Tuch, 2023 2nd

Another trade that clears a bunch of money off the books and adds a tough player which is desperately needed for the playoffs.

Canucks lineup
Pearson-Horvat-Batherson
Hoglander-Dickinson-Garland
Podkolzin-Highmore-Tuch
Evans-Lammiko-Bailey

Hughes-Poolman
Rathbone-Myers
Hunt-Hamonic

That leaves Chiasson to be shipped out at the trade deadline along with Motte if he can get healthy. During the off-season they would have a large amount of cap space to supplement the already reasonable looking lineup along with their high first round pick.

I think the Canucks lose all three trades. I don’t think they should trade any of the guys you proposed. Maybe a guy like Pearson to upgrade the D. There going to have a really good team soon I think. Maybe your right about needing someone new behind the bench.

Peterson is 23, he’s the perfect piece to build around. Better to move Miller and their older guys for younger pieces and picks.

It’s not all about the players they get, it’s about relieving the cap so they have the ability to add players. They are currently 5th worst in the league with these players and have suffered from continual mediocrity. They need to reload and use the increased amount of cap space to make smart signings and improve through the draft.

That Habs trade is terrible. Need to trade Miller to a contender, not the Habs who are in the running for Shane.

@Hockey dad, Elias Pettersson is extremely soft and not the type of player that succeeds in a tough playoff series, while his age is a plus the team needs to change its identity. Connor Garland and Nils Hoglander have shown that size doesn’t equal toughness and play tough in all areas of the ice. Pettersson does not have that quality and Batherson has produced more than him this year, but just doesn’t have the draft position that makes him as desirable.

The Canucks wouldn't even think about the first trade. Senators probably would seriously consider it but they like their players big and physical, not slight and soft. Plus Batherson is one of their best young players a player they really don't want to trade.

JT Miller is a good player who could help a lot of teams. Dowling is worthless.

Romanov is 21 years old makes just under 900k/ yr now, is RFA after this season and will be under team control for years to come. Miller is 28 years old makes 5.25m/ yr and will be UFA in 2023. If the Canadians like Romanov as much now as they did last year they won't be trading him alone for Miller, far less adding a first round pick and more.

The last trade. Vancouver is stuck with OEL now, unloading that contract won't be that easy. Buffalo keeps Tuch.
