TO TORONTO: $11.825 Million
C-Sean Monahan @6.375/UFA2023
LD/RD-Nikita Zadorov @3.75/UFA2022
RW-Tyler Pitlick @1.75/UFA2022

TO CALGARY: $11.625 Million
LD-Jake Muzzin @5.624/UFA2024
C/LW-Alex Kerfoot @3.50/UFA2023
LW-Nick Ritchie @2.50/UFA2023

Both Calgary and Toronto (or their fans anyways) move on from pieces/players they seemingly no longer want or need. Toronto frees up a ton ($5.25mil) of Cap Space in 2023 as well.

If Toronto doesn't want Pitlick, CGY could send Dillon Dube instead, but wants either Ondrej Kase or at least Ilya Mikheyev back as well OR simply take both Pitlick & Ritchie out, but I think Sutter can get Ritchie to play better in CGY and Toronto would save themselves 750k by taking Pitlick and can let him walk via Free Agency, being free of both his and Ritchie's Cap Hits in 2023. Mikheyev gets the role, position and playing time he was promised.

Dube could still be trade bait/packaged to get RW's Tyler Toffoli or Connor Brown and then Kerfoot would become the 2nd line Centre between Mangiapane and Brown/Toffoli.

Muzzin (won the Cup in LA with Sutter) replaces Zadorov, but may cause Cap Issues for CGY next year unless Gaudreau walks via Free Agency (which at this point looks likely) or they trade him in the off-season, but as long as the Flames win the Cup this year, that's all that really matters. Note: Muzzin's NTC kicks in on July 1, 2023, but it's just a 10 team no trade list, so he's still moveable.

Thoughts!? Does anybody need to add?

Sorry, Kampf would fall to the 4th line RW, with Simmonds moving to the LW.

Nikita Zadorov would replace Travis Dermott on either the 2nd/ 3rd LD Pairing OR Timothy Liljegren or Justin Holl on the 2nd/ 3rd RD Pairing; whichever is needed of him most.

Maybe Pitlick gets a chance and excels in Toronto, otherwise he would likely be scratched and possibly re-traded or waived down the road; speed and checking are his best assets. I included him mainly so Toronto could move Ritchie out and for Cap reasons.

Unless Monahan gets rejuvenated by the trade it really doesn't do much for either team. Just shuffling players who aren't earning their pay around.

Mikheyev for Dube now that could be interesting, a change of scenery might be good for both players.

I don’t really want to trade an RFA like Dube unless we packaged him for a better player like Toffoli or Connor Brown, got an RFA or Picks in return or got Mikheyev with an extension in place. I think Dube will do much better now that he’s back on the 2nd line with Mangiapane.

I’m kinda hoping that Toronto has given up on those players as I think Muzzin would play better in Calgary than Zadorov and we need to improve that position more than we need Monahan, yet Kerfoot would replace Mony but can be moved to the wing as well. I figured we’d have to take Ritchie off their hands to get them interested, but again, I think he’s a Sutter guy who can float up and down the line-up on LW. I’d rather take the chance on him then say Jake Debrusk, especially if we move Pitlick out for him.

Well Dube for Mikheyev wouldn't be a straight up trade. Toronto would have to add something.

Where Calgary really messed up was not making a 3rd line of Dube, Bennet and Mangiapane a few years ago. That'd likely be a darn good line by now.

Muzzin and Tkachuk on the same team lol.

@NotACasual Matthew might prefer Drew Doughty.
