Dillon Dube
Jusso Valimaki, Jakob Pelletier, Matt Coronato or Connor Zary (Columbus' choice)
2022 first round pick

Columbus trades:
Oliver Bjorkstrand @5.4M UFA 2026

A bit of an overpay for the Flames (a big one if Monahan rebounds) but Calgary is in win now mode. They finally get the top 6 right shot RW they need and gain some cap space to pursue an upgrade at second/ third line center or LD with.

Columbus gets a couple young players including their choice of one of Calgary's four top prospects and a first round pick to jumpstart the rebuild plus a veteran center who if he finds his old game again would be their first line center.

Just reading this now. FYI-I never hit the Unbelievable or Disagree button on your posts btw, but you’re not wrong, I’m not crazy about this proposed trade.

I rarely hit those buttons unless people make a proposal that doesn’t add up cap wise or they haven’t included any reasoning or explanation as to why the trade makes sense or how they will replace the player that’s being traded.

Everybody seems to hit the unbelievable and disagree button on me though lol, which is completely fine, but I prefer and respect the people who offer some reasoning or a counter proposal, so I know why and can try to learn or improve from it. We don’t all have to agree all the time either and I’m perfectly fine with that too.

LOL ok. In your case it's probably because your posts tend be long with complex multiplayer trades. It's just too much effort for most to respond to the whole thing.

Oil10 is the one who puts several multi-team trades in one post which is very difficult to analyze and respond too. I have posted a few 3-5 player acquisition trades but those do happen now and then. I posted a simple Lawson Crouse for Pitlick, Gawdin + a 2nd and 3rd Prospects and got 0 Agrees and 13 Disagrees with absolutely no comments, so I have no idea why that trade would be unbelievable

The internet and these forums are an interesting thing and yes, most people are extremely lazy and exert very little effort and others just don’t have the guts too, but whatever, I’m just here killing time cause I can. I take most comments with a grain of salt, but am most interested in thoughtful and intelligent feedback, even if it’s not necessarily positive. It keeps me thinking and sometimes you guys help me and other times I realize your guys’ posts are no more successful or better liked than mine are; so it’s all good. Just can’t wait to see some trades here already so we can verify Toffoli, Anderson and Chiarot aren’t going to bring in a huge haul like everyone seems to think, but we’ll see and I’m perfectly okay being wrong from time to time.

Bjorkstrand is criminally underrated imo because he plays in Columbus and is on a great long term contract, so I think this would be the cost to acquire him. Whether Clb wants to rebuild without him I’m not so sure about- I think they’d rather trade Domi, Laine and those type of guys.

I'd do this Trade if you took Pelletier and Coronato out (offering either Valimaki or Zary only instead) and I'd prefer to send a 2nd RD instead of Dube (use him for trade bait for another player), but if Dube must be part of the package, fine. Bjorkstrand would be coming at a good age with a reasonable contract.
