Montreal would want more than that for Anderson alone.

Primeau is a freebie/ throw in. Trade value is a 1st, 2nd + 3rd or Three (3x) 2nds. MTL is looking to cut cap space and salary and go younger. Oh and Josh Anderson is a good hockey player with perfect size and grit, but he’s overrated. Offering two 15 + 12 Goal Scorers and Good Pick (s) for under $3.1 million.

Tatar played very well in MTL and proved he still has it with 6PTS in 8GP for Slovakia at this years World Championships. At just $2.25mil, he would be a cheap and skilled opposite wing to Dadonov. MTL just needs to ditch Hoffman. Bastian replaces Anderson’s grit unles they left to go for the picks instead and hope that Gallagher steps up this year.

Anderson is worth that alone

Spare parts for Anderson. The trade doesn't make MTL better in any way

You guys are crazy, Tatar was putting up 0.75PPG+ and 20+ Goals with MTL. He's got a great shot and his Takeaway Giveaway ratio is superb. At 50% retained, so just $2.25 million and the ability to Trade him for more Top Picks/ Prospects, how much is that worth!?

Bastian replaces Anderson's Physicality and then some. A Power Forward, his shot and Takeaway Giveaway ratio are almost as good and given more ice time, could produce the same as Anderson. He's younger and fills another Bottom-6 position at an appropriate price.

Anderson had 2 Great Goal Scoring Season's but is (and I doubt he will ever be much more than) a 0.50PPG guy, in which case he is overpaid at $5.5 million.

Perhaps the Flames should consider sending Vladar + Lucic 50% retained instead? Is New Jersey close enough to Boston for Lucic and his Wife to consider moving back East to be closer to where she's from? Tatar and Ruzicka might be a good pairing as well. I'd love for the Flames to have Bastian and Tatar could produce 0.60-0.80PPG for cheap = 1/ 2 price.

Neither the Flames nor the Habs need another small winger, especially not an older one. No matter how many points he scored 2-3 years ago.

Tatar is average sized = same as Mangiapane. Lots of players under 6ft 180lbs are tearing up the league with their Speed and Talent, but if you just want Big Pylons scoring 0.50PPG, I guess that’s your choice. Lucic is definitely a keeper and will take the Flames to the next level for sure. FML ?‍♂️ There’s room in the game for skilled and speedy small guys.

Tatar simply isn't that good. A few years ago he was ok but not anymore. 4.5 mil is way too much for a small bottom 6 player who only had 30 points last year. That doesn't cut it.

23 Jun 2022 16:26:48
My proposal is for him @50% retained = $2.25mil + he scored 6Pts in 8GP at this year's World Championships, so I think he'd be worth the risk and could rebound in CGY.

23 Jun 2022 20:19:52
Calgary doesn't need a bottom 6 small left shot LW on the wrong side of 30. A big physical bottom 6 LW sure ok, a younger and bigger LW with potential ok sure, a top 6 LW maybe, but Tatar? No!

I've proposed all those moves/ needs alreayd, but we may not get Crouse or those other players, will very likely lose Gaudreau and it may make sense to trade Tkachuk, so unless we want to put all the pressure on Pelletier and Phillips to replace those guys, bringing in wild card veterans on the cheap isn't a bad idea.
