It'd take more than Valimaki to get Necas now.

Hard pass on Bear, there's no need for him, it's debatable if he's even worth what he makes now yet he's an RFA going to arbitration.

I'd rather see them trade Kylington, Valimaki and maybe Backlund for picks/ prospects/ depth players and use the cap savings to sign a top 6 free agent.

Gotta wonder if San Jose would consider trading Timo Meier and if Vancouver's ask for JT Miller has gone down yet.

Yes, I said Package Valimaki for Necas, didn’t know with what though, maybe a mid-pick or prospect. Jesper Fast would be another option but older + UFA2023

Bear @2.2mil isn’t bad, but I’d prefer Stralman, Subban, Michael Stone or to Trade for Justin Holl. Not many decent RD’s for $1.5-2.5mil out there: Colin Miller & Jani Hakanpaa are the only other 2 I can think of. Still need a quality injury replacement for Tanev who will Block Shots and Kill Penalties. How long will he be out, till December!?

Meier will be very expensive to acquire and re-sign, whereas Tarasenko should be much cheaper. JT Miller is somewhere in between.

Definitely need a 2nd Playmaker. I Highly Doubt Kadri or Bergeron come to CGY, so only other FA alternatives that are Top-6 worthy are Kessel, Stastny or Evan Rodrigues (Right Shot + Plays Centre) . Could Trade for Konecny or Jesper Bratt, just not sure what the acquisition cost would be for them.

Derek Stepan might be worth considering as well for $1mil or less. Don’t think I’d consider Chris Tierney though.

Former Calgary Hitmen Jake Virtanen at League Minimum might work out nice as well for additional Depth as Schwindt & Duehr may not be ready for the NHL yet.

Yes, Toffoli is Best at LW and definitely not as Good as Tarasenko; who can Pass & Make Plays as well, which is why I would put him at 2RW, as Huberdeau would be the 1st Line Setup Man.

More importantly Toffoli is a right shot. Calgary has a whole lot of left shot forwards but not very many right shots.

Need a RS on each PP. I just pitched a Trade for Conor Garland and have proposed pursuing Jesper Bratt as well, but Tarasenko would be the better RW; Toffoli is also better at LW, but he needs a Playmaker, so I’m looking to Trade Toffoli for one since we have Mangiapane & Dube who can both Score and for Cap Reasons

Could try to get old-timer Kovalchuk to come back for 1 more NHL Season or perhaps Dustin Brown otherwise we’re looking at Gambles like Matthew Phillips & Ruzicka or Phil Kessel, Evan Rodrigues, Jake Virtanen & Daniel Sprong as far as Free Agents go.

I've pitched Trades for Brayden Schenn, JT Miller & Tarasenko, otherwise who else is available in the Top-100 Forwards? I don't want Josh Anderson (not offensive enough), Blake Wheeler (Bad for the Locker Room) or Mark Stone (Too Expensive)

Better to go with Proven Skill & Talent in the Top-6 and Go Bigger in the Bottom-6 and maybe we Develop or Find a Top-6 Grit Performer doing that.
