Horrible trade for the Jets. Pully and Dvorak are at best 3rd/ 4th line players that their teams are trying to dump and a useless 2nd round pick. It will take a better offer to get PLD from the Jets so stop with these one sided trades.

Interesting, but it would be EDM supplying the 2nd to WPG, if not a 1st
Would be Great for EDM to acquire Joel Edmundson or Brenden Dillon ATST. MTL could use the spot to play Xhekaj or Guhle and WPG could stand to move an LD
I see WPG wanting Justin Barron to seal the deal and MTL offering WPG Born Madison Bowey and a 2nd Round Pick instead. MTL pretty much gets what they want/ need, they'd just want a Team Friendly long-term extension in place on Dubois. Can this happen now that he just signed a 1 year contract or do they have to wait!?

Arguably WPG is getting Three 1st Round Picks + a 2nd in this proposal for Dubois: Puljujarvi Drafted 4th Overall, Dvorak Traded for a late-1st + 2024-2nd and MTL 2023-2nd will be an early pick = almost 1st Rounder
Unfortunately many here believe PJ & Dvorak are only worth 3rd Round Picks now, which is silly.

This would satisfy your wanting to dump easily replaceable players from each team as well as leaving PLD for the Jets to do what they want to do with him. The Jets don't want or need any of the players listed in this trade except possibly for Dach a very good A prospect and a #1 draft pick.

Dvorak is worth a late first Puljuarvi is not. oilers made another big draft mistake wasting a high first on that guy.

@Islandjet That’s a good idea. Sorry you guys are stuck with the PLD situation. He seems to be a completely entitled nightmare to deal with. Never happy that guy, so instead of working it out, he wants to run. Has a bad reputation for taking shifts off.

I don't agree with that take on PLD. He didn't get along with Tortorella at all and some of those Quebecois French guys can take even little things very personally particularly if they get the idea someone might be picking on them because they're French. The ones that grew up in hardcore Parti Quebecois territory were pretty much raised to believe "les Anglais" all hate them.
He asked for a trade and signed a cheap short term deal in Columbus specifically to make it easier for them to trade him.
In Winnipeg he's simply being honest by telling them he intends to test free agency. No doubt Montreal is his preferred destination, he probably will wind up there but that's not written in stone either.

As far as Ranking this Trade for Teams improving, especially offensively, I think 1. WPG 2. MTL 3. EDM
Can WPG get better value for PLD, probably. Does MTL need Dubois & Barrie, no. Does EDM need a 3C and Stay at Home RD, Yes

Well TrevorA, I'd like to hear your explanation for how Winnipeg improves the most offensively with this trade.
The Jets give up 2 years of the only top 6 center in this deal and get 3 years of an average bottom six center and a malcontent, RFA meh bottom six winger along with a nothing pick.
Even disregarding points, how does trading a good top 6 center to pad the bottom 6 help offensively? Dubois was a huge part of Connor scoring 47 goals.
2 years of Dubois is worth far more to Winnipeg than 3 years of Dvorak and a couple marginal pieces.

Dubois and his agent had to have noticed how the Tkachuk situation played out in Calgary. I'd imagine there's a good chance he'll try to do the same thing next year.
If he's willing to sign long term with a handful of teams and work with the team the way Tkachuk did with Calgary then Winnipeg could wind up getting full value for Dubois too.
Maybe Calgary would be on his list. If so they should be very interested he'd be a great fit as a top 6 center.

We can agree or disagree on hockey players or moves, but stereotypes about culture are out of place when discussing hockey.

Winnipeg holds all the cards with PLD. RFA after this season still so a qualifying offer keeps him there until they can get what they want for him. Likes it's been said MTL is likely his preferred destination and he would fit in nicely with the players they have there and the direction they are trying to go.
Puljujarvi is another example of the Oilers rushing their players into the league before they should be there. Had they let him have a year or two over in Finland and brought him over for AHL or NHL playoffs I feel he would have developed accordingly.

Believe me, I know that for a fact. I've met a lot of them when I was in the military. Many aren't like that at all, many others realize the truth is nobody hate them after spending a few years in English Canada.

PLD had a Good Season, but only put up 0.74PPG (0.64PPG last 2 Seasons) . Dvorak definitely isn't as good, but would add more Depth Scoring @3C. I predict Puljujarvi will put up at least 21G+33A=54PTS @2RW with 82GP:

I believe that the Jets would be better off trading PLD one for one with a young top end center if they can't sign him long term by the draft. Lesser skilled quantity never makes up for one skilled quality piece. These trade scenario's that try to get the Jets to take lesser pieces for PLD just don't make sense.

Wow Trevor, you really like Puljujarvi. If he couldn't hit those numbers stapled to McDavid and Draisaitl, I can't see him getting those point totals without them.
It's likely all moot anyways. Now that Dubois is under contact, he won't be moved until the TDL at the earliest, barring a crazy good offer. Which this one isn't.

I just think he's Better and Worth More than many of the posters here. Hard to find a Right Shot with Size that can Score, not to mention play two-way hockey. I don't think he got as much TOI & opportunity with McDavid & Draisaitl either. They didn't pass or include him in a lot of the Offensive Zone plays. Puljujarvi earned most of his Points by going to the Front of the Net or Sniping it. He puts in Good Effort and still has more Potential and Room to Grow IMO, but fair points, I do think it takes a Bonafide Star or Young Prospect to get PLD, like it took to get Tkachuk.

JET: I respect the ask for Suzuki, but MTL must decline that.
Dubois will bring a nice return, but MTL shouldn’t consider any trade of picks or prospects for a high-end piece. MTL needs to stink it up for at least 2 more years and draft high with as many picks as possible. Dubois is a good player who would improve them just enough to possibly lift them out of the bottom 3, and that doesn’t help them long-term, in my humble opinion.
In short, WPG deserves a solid package for Dubois, but let it come from a non-rebuilding team like the Habs. ?.

That's an excellent position to take Chickenfoot, it's totally understandable.
IMO, Montreal and Winnipeg aren't good trading partners for Dubois. Montreal won't want to and shouldn't give up the assets Winnipeg would ask for and the Jets have no reason to accept anything less than exactly what they want right now.
