Canucks are a team that badly needs to rebuild, so I don't see them taking on 2 UFA's that are similar to the boatload of players they already have.

I didn’t really understand what Vancouver was trying to do, but I will blame it on the constant meddling from Francesco Aquilini, who has meddled with every coach and GM he has had. Like other similar owners who have been successful in business, guys like Francesco feel like they know more than their hockey people. (NEWS FLASH: you don’t, and your team has zero chance till you stay away. )

Trevor Linden was hired as President to address this very situation. As a respected player from the past, it was felt Francesco finally found the one guy he would listen to. He simply can’t help but interfere, and when Linden was unable to stop him, he bailed. Quickly.

Vancouver fans…sadly you’re screwed as long as your owner meddles. He’s young-ish for an owner, so unfortunately there is no solution, just new faces, with the same old problems. Too bad you can’t fire the owner. Good thing his dad set them up with wealth because Francesco has absolutely ZERO impulse control.
