Edmonton also gets out of a awful Campbell contract.

I guess I would be somewhat surprised if EDM & CGY come together on a major trade.
They’ve made 3 smaller ones in their history, but I think it would be challenging to complete a transformative trade with your provincial rival.

Campbell and a 1st/ 2nd for Markstrom. Lol same style as the Lucic Neal trade.
18 Nov 2023 15:31:45
Except Lucic and Neal were serviceable NHLers and Campbell isn’t even a serviceable AHLer. Markstrom is also better then all 3. 4 1sts is the price to dump Campbell.

No team would ever trade 4 1st over buying him out. Lol.

No contender wants dead cap space of a buy out his buy out is long enough for rebuilders to cause an issue down the road. Oilers are in a tough spot.

- Agree with EBS.
- Some rosters just have too many mistakes to fix with trades, buyouts or both.
- A hard cap means there’s less room for error than ever.
- Eventually you get to a point where you can’t fill one hole without creating another.
