Toronto Trades
McMann
Liljegren
1st Round Pick 2026
Washington Trades
Carlson*
*Caps retain 2 million a year for the next 2 years of Carlson's remaining contract.
Before anyone says Washington won't retain any money don't forget Backstrom is done and will be on LTIR next season before he officially retires after that, good move for Washington going forward imo.
Leafs get a veteran solid 2 way defenceman in Carlson which they will be looking to add this off season.
Thoughts ?

I dont believe Carlson is on the trade block, and if/ when he will be it will require a bigger return than this.
An RFA and a late 1st round pick with an AHL/ fring NHLer won't be enough to get a top 2 defenseman, when you ask for retention as well then the ask gets even bigger.

How is that a good move for Washington going forward. The first rounder good but mcman and Liljegren are crap that’s why you include them and Robertson in every trade.

Tisk Tisk undervalue Leaf players once again?
Liljegren had 23 points in 58 games that's tied for second on Capitals Defense with Sandin, and Sandin played more games, and a +3.
McMann has shown to be a solid winger as well, neither is what you refer to as crap, Washington is doing a retool and partial rebuild, why wouldn't they look to the future with an asset like Carlson?
Don't understand why everyone on The Leafs have zero value it's baffling to me.

So would you take nic dowd, Ethan bear and a first from Washington for Reilly?

- Nashan isn't undervaluing your leaf pieces in that trade Pinball, so save the whining for something other than hockey.
- McMann is 27 years old with a total of 65 NHL games. He's not a prospect or a player, because his track record tells us exactly who he is. He's an asset whose main skill seems to be maintaining a body temperature of around 98F.
- Lilly is the softest D-man I can think of at this moment, and at 25 years old and almost 200 games played, hockey people understand who and what he is. (You must know too since you included him and your current "usual suspects" in every repetitive version of your latest trade. )
- The only asset you're giving up of value is the leafs 1st, which demonstrates your limited knowledge of hockey. The leafs don't have enough picks or prospects to hand out any more.
- You didn't include anything for retention. OOPS! A 1st doesn't get you Carlson. with 2M retained. That's just hillarious.

More like Milano, Sandin and a 1st Rounder for Rielly I would yes.
Not Dowd and Bear they aren't as good as McMann and Liljegren.
Plus you forgot to mention that The Cap top players are past their prime, this Leaf team in 5 or 6 years Will be like Washington.
That's why Washington not Toronto is looking to the future.

Yes I know teams only want Leaf players like Marner for a frindge prospect a washed up player and a 2nd Rounder.
I keep forgetting I am on let's undervalue every Leaf Player site.

Carlson likely just rides it out with the Caps. Big prove it year for Lily coming up. He's either going to be a bottom pairing dman going forward or he's gonna show his worth as a top 4 dman. The other thing is if the Caps want Lily they could very easily send him an offer sheet and put the Leafs in a tough spot.

If the Caps top players like Carlson are past their prime, then why do you want him on the Leafs?
No need to be a drama queen and have a panic attack when people disagree with you.
You're offering a past his prime AHL player, a late 1st round pick and an RFA who will be too old when the Capitals are back to being contenders.
In return you're asking for arguably one of the top 10 right handed defensemen in the league. Don't act so surprised when people disagree with you.
