- this would put EDM over the cap.
- Savard in MTL is apparently on EDM radar, and is 900k cheaper than Murphy. (EDM is short on picks and prospects to make this happen IMHO. )
- Kane on LTIR isn’t hurting their cap situation, so there’s no urgency to move him.
- Hall would be an interesting add, but it would have to involve another team to get his cap hit down even further.

On another note…

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until we start seeing some more “one-goal Robertson” trades from the usual suspects. (Mr. September has really gone on a milk carton since his 3-goal preseason?)

Hall at 3mil is a decent price. Kane is of no use to either team. Murphy is a good defenseman and be immediately top 4. 1st and second might be too much but eating Kanes salary and 50% of hall, got to be picks involved. Maybe 3rd team to retain 1.5 more for a 4th or something.

Kane is a good power forward that brings a lot of toughness to the top 6. Hopefully if he’s back to being fully healthy he’ll bounce back. Murphy could be a good target but oil wouldn’t consider this.

Ebs, Kane is a good player when healthy. Oilers aren't resigning him. An old hall and a very reliable defenseman to pair with their insane contract with nurse would be good. Murphy would be perfect for nurse because he's worked with learning defenseman the last few years. I'd take away the 1st so 2nd and a 3rd.
