Vancouver says no to the first one. You're not going to be able to dump Anderson for free. He will cost a 1st minimum to dump according to puck pedia.
Jersey says no to the 2nd. Nothing there helps them.

I would agree with Memarcus.
Pettersson is absolutely the wrong kind of addition for the Habs. He doesn't have the mental makeup to help a team become a contender, and is easily defended at playoff time. He's also grossly overpaid. Adding him would hamstring the habs cap for years to come, much how the leafs added Tavares and then never had the cap space to finish their rebuild, especially on the back end.
Nemec is a great young D, and no way NJ trades him unless it's a huge overpay. MTL has lots of good young D coming, so there's no need to deviate from their rebuild. They'll add some more young talent to the roster next year, so no need to skip any steps in the rebuild.

memarcusjoe. there was a first included in the Vancouver trade. but always cautious about players that may cause issues (McGroarty, Gauthier, Matthews) . seem to have ego issues. I agree on passing.

Balsam8. The first is likely a mid-first, so not all that interesting plus I find it highly doubtful Vancouver wants to trade their 1C for futures.

How does Nemec fetch a better return then Pettersson lol.

I don't see this working for any of the teams involved. I think Chicnenfoot explained it best.
For Montreal, I think best thing to do is minor tweaks, but stay tbe path Gorton and Hughes have set.

I agree with Sosa. this rebuild has been going well, play it out.

I think Pettersson would be a great add for the Habs tbh. Most Habs fans were leery about bringing in Laine with concerns of his work ethic and attitude. safe to say it worked out. If they can get him without giving up a significant prospect then why not? Big contract, but the core players are already signed to team friendly deals. Most of the D prospects are right on the cusp of being ready for the NHL so Matheson and Savard can likely be moved soon.
A one two punch of Suzuki and Pettersson is damn good imo. Sometimes guys just need a change of scenery to go back to the player they were.

Well hate to burst everyone's bubble as a diehard canucks fan if anyone is getting traded it won't be pettey it will be the guy that can't keep his emotions in check and basically ripped a strip up his coach after last night's loss. Ultimately it doesn't make sense to trade pettersen first off he is younger and second he isn't a head case like Miller.

@Vancityguy just curious if you think Miller's actions may diminish his trade value or not?
After seeing him go on off on the HC it was made pretty clear the guy doesn't want to be there anymore. Curious to see where he ends up.
