Anaheim Trades
Terry
Gauthier
1st Round Pick 2025 (10th Overall)

Toronto Trades
WNylander*

*WNylander will have to waive his NTC.

Ducks looking to make that next step and have enough good young players to make a deal like this going forward.

Toronto gets 2 solid Players back with Gauthier maybe being the best player going to The Leafs and free up some Cap to continue to change as Treliving said The DNA of the team.

Not a chance the Ducks consider moving all that for Nylander. 2 comparable players and a high first, typical pinball.

A landslide trade win for Toronto and a deal that ends up getting the Anaheim GM fired.

So now WNylander isn't an elite player?
WNylander is the best player in my proposal and when you want an elite player like WNylander in his prime you're not getting him for a couple 4th liners.

To add to Memarcus, why would a team that’s taking the time to build it slowly and correctly do this? Because they’d rather see the leafs succeed than themselves?

When your only criteria is what helps the leafs and ignores what another team needs, you get trade proposals like this: one-sides, leaf-loving trades that ignore what the non-leaf trade needs.

Chickenfoot
The Ducks have more young good players and prospects then they do vets, they don't have an elite player in their prime though and markets like Anaheim look for this to sell more tickets, jerseys etc.
The NHL is very much a business as well and so many like yourself think it's just about playing hockey.
It isn't there is so much more involved, that's why a team like Anaheim would be looking to make a splash like this imo.

Pinball, who said anything about elite?

You're coming to Anaheim asking for two top players, plus a first round pick to take your overpaid, complimentary winger.

Just as you have realized now, the benefit of having two players, the pick and the flexibilty that gives you is better than one guy taking up a huge chunk of cap.

With their timeline, Anaheim is better off with Gauthier and the pick as opposed to still have to pay Nylander 11.5 mil as he begins his decline when they are ready for the playoffs.

Anaheim is not obligated to bail Toronto out of their cap mismanagement.

You make the rest of us Leaf fans look bad.

1) Nylander isn't going to all of a sudden make the Ducks a playoff team.

2) We would be selling so low on him. People just watched him put out next to zero effort in our final 3-4 games of the playoffs. We look like fools for paying him north of $10mill with the effort he was putting out.

3) ANA isn't going to trade away their future for a player who is going to have them in the same position as they were before. He may sell them a few more jerseys, but ultimately winning games sells tickets.

The change that's coming is Marner is walking. We shouldn't be willing to go above $11mill for him and I think he wants to leave too for a fresh start. From what I've gathered he's not interested in a sign and situation either so we are unlikely to recoup any assets for him; that's the nature of the beast though.

Hopefully JT gets brought back at a decent cap hit, Knies gets locked down for 5+ years, and we go after some guys to really fill out our team that are the type of guys to drag yah through the mud in the guts of the game. We do that and we are going to be a much better team come playoff time. Regular season success is cool and all, but the playoffs is what actually matters.

Top 5 RW scoring leaders this past season.
1. Kucherov
2. Pastrnak
3. Marner
4. Rantanen
5. WNylander
How can defend that he isn't an elite RWinger?

30 May 2025 18:18:08
As usual Pinball the point goes right over your head. I never mentioned anything about whether Nylander was elite or not, you're just trying to argue something with yourself, because you have nothing else realistic to offer on how this helps Anaheim.

So, instead of trying to deflect and argue against a point that neither myself or anyone else made, make an argument for what was actually said to defend your trade.

Tell me why Anaheim guts their future by trading away a high end young player just entering his prime, for an overpaid player, soon to be 30 and exiting his prime, just because it helps Toronto free themselves from a bad contract?

That's what I want to hear about from you. Not an argument against yourself about semantics.

30 May 2025 18:22:57
Even fellow Leaf fans are telling you it's extremely biased in favour of Toronto.

02 Jun 2025 16:36:02
Pinball. listen to your fellow leaf fans. You're embarrassing yourself. Your conclusions, and the logic behind them, are deeply flawed.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the two-month break from your posts when Marner doesn't re-sign with the leafs.
