Habs should shoot their shot at Anaheim, offer sheet mctavish… 5-6 years at 9- 9.3 per
Would only cost a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round
If it works mtl is set for a long time, worst case is ducks matches
Habs then trade prices contract and still have laine , matheson as trade bait maybe Josh Anderson and Newhook too

Agree2 Disagree14

I would go via Sign and Trade. Anaheim will more than likely match an offer.

Slaf, Laine and a 1st.

Laine to get Anaheim to the cap.

If you made that offer for 5 years, it would cost a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If you do it over 6 years, it would cost two 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd.

It's always the total value of the contract divided by the years of term. If the term is more than 5 years, you divide the total contract value by 5.

I’m sure there is a team that would take Hage as compensation for Laine.

25 Jul 2025 03:03:52
Ok 5 yrs 9.3 per … costs 1st,2nd and 3rd I
Im not sure ducks would love to matched ( career high of 22 goals, 52 points ) ducks also have : Leo carlsson, Ryan Stromae, granlund, poehling , gaucher, Roger McQueen , all centers
I believe if they match, it’s because they’re not happy with the compensation.
It’s also a risk for habs 9.3 per for 50-60 points don’t look good but 75 plus would be game changer

26 Jul 2025 17:12:54
That Comp would be 2 1sts, 2nd and 3rd.

AAV Range (2024–25)
Compensation Owed
$9,145,457 – $10,973,716
2 First-Round Picks, 1 Second, 1 Third
$10,973,717 and up
4 First-Round Picks.

SIDEKICK: ANA has the most cap space in the league. They’ve said they’ll match any offer, and I believe them because there’s no reason not to.

NASHAN: Laine is in his last year. You’re not using an asset like Hage as compensation to trade a one-year contract.

26 Jul 2025 22:57:45
Nope..don't want any part of this as a Habs fan

26 Jul 2025 23:29:08
has McTavish proven himself enough Toronto $9MM?

27 Jul 2025 00:39:18
Nop vbbbvvbb, actually the threshold for 1 1st ,1 2nd, 1 3rd is 9,360,153 $ per

27 Jul 2025 13:52:07
Chickenfoot : I get it , but what does habs really have to lose besides one week or less of waiting to see if ducks match … like I said 9.3 is a lot of dough for career high 52 points !

27 Jul 2025 19:16:22
I can tell yah for free if the Habs offer sheet McTavish that Hutson and Demidov are both getting them too when the time comes. And that's not a game you want to play with a team with young cost controlled talent and cap space to burn.

27 Jul 2025 23:53:07
If you put that way mg69 , I’ll pass on the offer sheet

28 Jul 2025 12:20:34
I 100% agree MG69.

12 Aug 2025 18:31:31
Hage isn’t much different from giving a first round pick………. that is what it will cost you to dump Laine as nobody wants that cancer in their locker room.
