BUF Cody Hodgson & NYI 2015 2nd
PHI Vincent Lecavalier & Travis Sanheim

Surely you kid. That's terrible for the Flyers

2.) 28 Nov 2014
That's a big no from Buffalo

The Sabres take this and run. Hodgson is looking like a bust and Sanheim was just picked in the first round of the draft last year.

Based on the responses, it looks like most people think PHI wins the trade. I would make the trade as an ardent Sabre fan because, 1) it may be possible hold back up 50% of his salary & flip Lacavalier for a pick or a decent prospect, 2) Hodgson is in Nolan's dog house so moving him could be good for his career, 3) Sanheim, not a great prospect but a good one, could become at least a depth dman for Buffalo or at best maybe a top four, 4) as much as I hate giving up 1st or 2nd round picks, IMO it is worth trading the 2nd in return for a 1st from last years draft, 5) maybe Lacavalier could help to mentor some of the young bloods we have on the team until he is ultimately traded, 6) PHI is looking for a LW and Hodgson can play both LW and C, 7) finally, Lacavalier's ($4.5MM/4yr) and Hodgson's ($4,25MM/5yr) contracts are almost equal in value and length.
